I'm calling for pricing today. I think these shelters are brilliant. They even say the come in custom colors and one guy can put them up.

I want one.

CryBaby,

Depending on cost this could be a reasonable, stockpileable housing solution that stays flat on the pallet until needed. We a four guys I bet a 10'x16' goes up in 2 hours once you figure out the first one.

One thing to consider, minor, is condensation. Plastic buildings and even some metal buildings are notorious for "raining" on the inside. This can be solved with moving the air inside or introducing a dry heating source. A propane stove or heater is considered a wet heat source because it has water vapour as a by-product of combustion. A small wood stove would work, the driest heat there is, lol. Okay, electric heat would work too. Geothermal.

An 8'x16' or 10'x16' or 12'x20' would seem to be good starting points as most families could live in that amount of space.

Install your plastic septic tank below and then put your new plastic cabin over top with a 2' diameter pipe leading straight down to connect the two. Never work!!!

Thanks for keeping us thinking of other options.

Mountainman.

Nice work everybody.

Nighthawk,

Seconds could work. Then find a paint that will stick to this type of plastic, without melting the plastic and then paint them with a roller or spray can, and Bob's your uncle. A new cabin that blends in with its environment!!!

I found the Canadian supplier for these out of BC. Here's a link to the pricing:
http://store.nunainnovations.com/concrete-shelters/

apx. 30k-38k depending on which of the two sizes. Shipping isn't included.

These things look pretty amazing though. Well done Prom!

Sorry, no. I'm not there yet. They are on my nice to have sometimes in the future list for now. First I need a place to store it and a bigger vehicle for transportation.

I have a price coming in for a 16 x 32. Four windows, no lifting lugs, custom green color, man door, no insulation and not assembled.

Price will be for pick up only run through my company.

He said he'll have the price to me by Monday morning.

Not available until mid December, that should give me enough time to prep area.

Thank you for the info. They look kind of pricy, I hope they are worthy. It would have been great if they were reusable, just deflate them and pack and go 😀
Like I said they are not on top of my list now but I liked that they were concrete and seemed easy to deploy. I did take a better look and they look kind of big and heavy for one family. You would need a trailer just for the pack. Under some conditions they might be a good idea
Anyways I thought I should share this so people would know they are out there.

it was a great find Prom 🙂 it would be great to bury into a hillside in a well concealed BOL... just kinda pricey for me, although it would be perfect for my family!

Well Crybaby,

An extra 16'x32' on your ranch and you could easily house an extra 16 hire hands. That sounds very interesting. I will bet that a 4 man team could assemble your 16'x32' in less than an 8 hour day, once the site is prepped of course. That is looking pretty good. In Yugo, they delivered "ISO Trailers" basically a packaged 8'x24' Atco trailer. It arrived about 8'x24'x2'. With the aid of a crane, after the transportation bolts were removed the top was lifted by the crane, the wall panels and door panels were removed, the four corner posts were attached top and bottom. Insert the wall and door panels, and torque. Next trailer. I forget how long it took to build a single unit, not long. Of course, we had a crane to lift the roof panel up out of the way.

If you are open to the idea, Crybaby, please post ballpark numbers on the cost of your 16'x32'.

Thanks,

Mountainman.
