I was wondering if anyone in the Edmonton west area would be doing a lot of canning that they need help with. I would like to learn the skills and find hands on better. I helped my mother do lots as a child but can't remember any of it. I know she did water bath but never pressure canning. Any help would be appreciated. 😛

If your looking for those with lots of experience, contact the Ukranian Village...east of Edmonton (I think) I bet they could put you in touch with someone doing a lot.

I wish I saw your post earlier. I canned 27 jars of salmon on the weekend. I still have about 20 lb of peaches, but not sure what form they will take. If you need, help please pm and I will send you in the right direction. I've done chicken, Turkey soup, and most fruits and a number ofjams and relishes.

I found someone to do canning with on the weekend. I'm looking forward to it and she is going to teach me about some other stuff as well. I'll report back anything cool I learn!! Thanks everyone.

I hope you have a great time! BC freestone peaches are on sale at save-on foods until Thursday and they are really nice right now. Did 12 jars and a couple of kinds of freezer jam. Probably enough fruit left to make something to enjoy now...unless the canner calls to me.
Feel free to pm at any time if you have questions.
