I am a small farmer located halfway between Edmonton and Red deer.
-I keep many animals and grow a very large garden annually.
-have draft horses and horse drawn equipment
-have multiple water sources
-have a large woodlot and sawmill
-am "off the beaten path"

I am interested in knowing if anyone, or group would be interested in teaming up with me and using my farm as a BOL.

I can be reached at bugoutfarm at hot mail dot com

There you go people. This just fell into your lap. Lets see how many reject the idea that someone is generous and wants to share his land. Let the nervous Nellie's loose. He is not asking for money which should come as a blessing to some here. I would guess some would view a first post such as this as some government spy or troll.

It isn't necessary for the government to spy or troll with postings. They are more than capable of doing so through your ISP. Meet the guy on neutral ground. There is NOTHING to lose.

There's a story here, and i for one would love to know more...What made you just jump right in with both feet and put such an offer out there, buster?
To be honest, this is sounding like a poster child for "if it sounds too good to be true..." but i don't think everyone has lost complete faith in their fellow man...
It seems there have been several attempts made by many people to try and get something going among the 'Central Alberta' preppers, but to no avail...
If you have been reading here for some time, then you would know that there has been quite a lot of interest in purchasing some land as a group, but the project is so overwhelming in scope that i don't think any of us really know how to go about making it happen...But as far as i could read, the biggest obstacle was getting land...and yet, here you are OFFERING yours up? But what are the logistics? Have you thought this out? How would having people bringing their preps to your land impose on your lifestyle? Have you drawn up some basic guidelines, or even better, a detailed guideline of what you are planning? And if you don't actually sell each person their own 'section', how legal would it be? This is huge, so i can't imagine where you are coming from...
Now another person here, Melborne, has also just created a new thread called 'Land Project Alberta', and posted an excellent link there you might want to check out...
Anyway, i love your enthusiasm and incomprehensible generosity, and if nothing comes of this, good on you for trying... 😛 (any grassy knolls on your land, buster?!!)

In a worst-case scenario (cme/flu/4 horsemen) once the fuel runs out for the tractors and the survivors need to grow their food the old fashioned way, the land owners will need a lot of manual labour. Without knowing this person or their objective, they may be realizing that a community approach would work best even though they already have the infrastructure.

How many people did it take working as a group, to grow enough food to feed themselves for a year? Especially with our enjoyable winters. I've no idea but I bet there is a magic ratio of person per acre.

I too am pretty far south, but as always, Buster is welcome to attend any of the AB-South meetings to introduce themselves, just like anyone else.

Thank you all for your interest,
You have all brought up some very important points.I have had a well written member of this forum contact me and ask some specific questions, so i will answer as best as i can.
I am not looking for a buy in, just a small monthly rental fee. I was thinking $50/month per person for the opportunity to keep their privately owned sea can, stored with their provisions in a secure location. ( think "insurance" ) and for your thinking "here goes", every penny of mine goes into the farm and consider what taxes cost per year.
i am thinking up to 50 people.
once set up i would not need to see you again until SHTF.
i would continue to operate my farm as normal until people in need start to show up and at that time would turn over land for large vegetable gardens.
i have a fresh water spring, fish pond, 3 powered wells and 1 on a hand pump, all safe to drink.
this land is accessible by 2 wheel drive , but not obvious to the public.
if shtf you will have access to all i have including tools, animals, equipment, land and experience.

thank you.

I truly believe hard times are to come and one man alone is going to be helpless.

Sounds like a very viable plan for those in range.

Hello Buster and greetings from Northern Ontario. An interesting idea forsure.

You might want to split your email address in your signature up so that we can understand it i.e. bugoutfarm at hotmail dot com. With all the Google bots etc that troll the site you might end up getting a lot of junk mail.
