That is pretty harsh Crybaby but I think your cynical view may be the most realistic. If a group does not get together, work together and strive for the same goals together pre SHTF then in all probability of the group surviving is virtually zero and the life of the group will be extremely short lived.

Truth is that there a number of familys that don't think the same as you do. some people just want to better their odds by being in a secluded location, with their supplies, and among like minded people. The people that have signed up so far, are family oriented, responsible, and concerned about the future. But they choose not to let the possibility of a shtf scenario run their lives. They are not the types to clean their guns and romanticise a very bad situation. However, in a shtf situation, I suggest that you stay out of sniper range.

Sorry buster don't get me wrong, I wish you the best of luck with your Endeavour. I just do not how you are going to develop a cohesive group when group members have not had a chance to spend some considerable time together and get to know each other VERY well. This includes all family members of everyone in the group. This group aside how many people other than close family members do you know that you would have absolutely no hesitation putting your family's life totally in their hands? It is a very somber consideration.

I understand the purpose of the offer... Just doesn't seem like that safe of a decision to me. If you had enough time, and s didn't htf for years and you could build up relationships with people, then at least they might feel bad when taking over the farm lol.

I think Buster you might hit gold with the idea of developing relationships with people and forming a community in the process by allowing them to live on your land in the form of RV's or Tumbleweed tiny homes. I myself spent 2 yrs here in Calgary living off grid in an RV as an experiment and learned its pretty easy to do and not even leave a footprint you were there. I am now looking at building a Tumbleweed or a School bus. I favor the latter for Bug out scenario's. The hurdle with either is that I am a renter so I have no place to build or park. Your land would solve that problem. I already know of a few people like me, one is almost done their Tumbleweed here in town. We are all looking for that one land owner who is willing to allow us to take in a corner of land to park and live off grid.

Maybe you could be the one.

Tumbleweeds have been gaining momentum in the tiny house market for about 5+ yrs. They are really going mainstream this past 2 yrs. They are built to certain specs on a car trailer normally so they get insured and licenced as an RV or just a trailer. You then dodge all the laws. By keeping it within spec's as well you avoid hassles. Here is the link to the guy who made the first and is kind of the defacto figure head of the movement.

I am happy to see someone with your thought process here on the site. I wish you all the best with your offer and community. By being pro active in much the same way you have I have found an excellent group of like minded people and we are working on something similar to your cocept.
Because I am not so far away from you I would be happy to meet somewhere neutral and say hello. Share some experiences and ideas and be able to stay in contact for bartering in the future.

There has been a lot of interest in using rv's as a bug out shelter and I would have no problem with that, as many people already own one.
