Looking for Alberta Preppers

I belong to a few boards but since I live in Alberta I should at least be known here. Have been prepping for several years. Basically married with 2 teenage kids. Feel the same as most here, prepping is NOT somthing that is all consuming but just logical. Would be interested in meeting like minded folks. We have a "cottage" on 6 1/2 acres with all services. It is our retirement project but livable right now if needed (not our permanent residence). Would like to form a group of diverse folks to help each other if things got bad. I make biodiesel and run a Golf and Jetta. Carpentry background and not too bad at plumbing.Interesting in going off grid with wind and solar, this should start next summer.

I live in sylvan lake and am going to move soon to some land in preparation.. i am creating a survival group and have a few good members so far from red deer... I am hoping to find some other like minded individuals on this forum.. message me and we can go for coffee or you are more than welcome to join at our next (second) meeting this sunday in red deer... I am excited to have found this website the other day 😀 and am looking forward to actually sitting down and making a plan with others who we can trust and get this ball rolling... there is lots to do!

Hi folks new to this site..been lurking as a guest a few times and finally decided to join. I am in Calgary as well, but a lifelong prepper, learner of old-time / pioneer skills and methods. I am hoping to move to something outside of the city in the next few years as my kids will be done with thier education. I want room to do things, chickens, pigs, beef, garden ect. I am a specialist in Dutch oven and all forms of outdoor cooking, I have taught courses for scouting groups on this and wilderness survival in the past. I am a believer in being prepared, only the unprepared have need to fear when the time comes. 😉

I would love to meet like minded folks. I currently live in South East Calgary. I would prefer meetings on a Saturday as opposed to Sunday's as for me it is Family time and a chance to attend church and observe the Sabath day.

I'm starting to think that the Edmonton area must be asleep. It seems to me that almost all of the Alberta members are from Calgary and the southern part of the province. Only a couple of people from my neck of the woods. Gettin' lonesome up here.

tazweiss. We are located in South Edmonton and were both born and raised south of the river. Have been prepping a little bit for a number of years but haven't been "official", but we are here. No need to feel lonesome as I think that the Edmonton contingent is quite shy and may be lurking in the shadows. Or maybe they just haven't found this site yet! Feel free to send PM if you need company.

And you all are welcome to cochrane at the June meeting obviously!

Hey there me and my wife are also in our 20's/30's and in Calgary SE area we are also looking to meet other new or veteran preppers in Calgary and from anywhere in Alberta to be honest with you. You and your husband should attend that meet they're having on June 9th in Cochrane...the thread is on here somewhere near the top of the list.

That is awesome we are in the northeast. I will have a scroll through and see if I can find the post. Apparently I am to new to message on here, but feel free to add me as a friend and chat further.:)
