I think a muster place is a great idea...I think we should have on in town, (we dont want to be caught away from homes because we dont know what or when something is going to happen)...and come up with a plan to decide on a meeting place out of town, when the SHTF and in the case that we cant stay in our homes.I dont want to be told I have to stay in town if i dont think its safe( marshall law, curfews, looters etc.)These are a few things that need to be decided fairly soon.I have a few ideas would like to share with others.I am looking into the land thing.I agree 932 any plan is better than none. Those are a few ideas of mine. Thanks P

Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...

Hi everyone I'm new to this forumn and find it very interesting. We live in the Crowsnest Pass and have been prepping for about four years. In the last four years we have come a long way in being more self sufficent and self reliant. Looking forward to getting to know some like minded people.

It would be nice to have a symbol to identify another prepper...

Haha, A 870 and a bunch of MRE's. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Anyone out in the Banff/Canmore area. We have lots of campers and hikers and the like but they all seem to carry this ' all is well, all will be well" attitude. While it makes them pleasant to talk to, its somewhat discouraging seeing so many potential ignorant mouths to feed.

Been going through the messages and "friending" all the Calgarians like myself. We should talk. No need to be all public with what you have and can do... that just makes you a target. We need to generate relationships with people you trust and to do that you need to meet and greet and establish a friendship first. Get a gauge on what kind of people they are. I will be in touch at some point here to arrange a public meet and greet or something.

Cheers

Hello folks, I am from Calgary. My wife daughter & I are preppers. We were on a TV show called Doomsday Preppers. It aired last tuesday in the U.S. on the Nat Geo network but hasn't aired in Canada yet and (so far) it hasn't been posted to YouTube. Anybody want to compare preps?

We're about ready to hire again. If anyone is interested in learning an old-time future skill and a job that will guarantee your family won't go hungry, PM me and I'll give you IRL contact info. Must live in Medicine Hat. We're not quite fully sustainable but we're working on it bit by bit. It would be great to have another team member who sees value in prepping, especially having a business that will survive TWOTWAWKI. We start paying hourly but most of our production staff are now on salary. Must be okay with starting work in the wee hours of the morning. Great job for a family man - work at night and be available for kids/gardening/prepping during the day.

Came across many prepper vid's today on youtube but I think the one that stood out nicely for families and in keeping with family values while introducing the concept of prepping are in this link. Look for episodes 1 through 5.

People just a reminder many of us new to the forum are not authorized with PM access due to limit postings so we cannot respond to private messages.

I think the number of postings necessary to get PM access is pretty low. Given the personal security issues regarding prepping, I don't want to post clearly identifying info in a public forum. However, if you are comfortable doing as such, and reply here to me, I'd be happy to contact you directly. I'd say that posting a few messages to get PM access is probably a good idea, though.
