It doesn't need to be tomorrow or next week. Just whenever works best. I'm mainly looking to make friends and meet people and families that I could build a relationship with that I could trust if and when shtf.

To Regularguy and all:I am not young ,and do not have a family still at home, there is just my wife and I.Prepping at any age and in any circumstance is a smart idea, even if you can only do a little at a time. I also have a few Ideas on how to prep,I spent about 8months preparing bugout bags for my wife and I which are kept in our cars,(might be on the road) I also have a larger pack at home if we are here when the shtf.
The cost was not too bad because we did it a little at a time(always alert to sales, dollar store items and d.i.y). The preppers best tool is his mind!!! I also found on line fire arm sales to be cost effective if I purchased (functional)surplus weapons and ammo.I already owned a 45acp and an old 1897 Winchester 12 gauge shotgun, I purchased a Russian svt40 semi automatic rifle and 880 rounds of ammo for less than 400.00$,and a Tokarev tt33 (762x25 CAL)and 2280 rounds of ammo for 400.00$. I find the TT 33 is comparable to a 40cal in hitting power much better than 9mm.
as far as other prepps I have allot of good homemade ideas that I can pass along!!!
Ps. I live in Lethbridge and would love to go to a meeting at a coffee shop to discuss prepping!!!

Still here for a little while longer

Will any of you folks be going to the Calgary meeting on March 15th? I do like the idea of meeting people from Lethbridge as this is where I live. I am going out of the country for a little bit, but maybe we could do a Tim Horton's morning or something at the end of February or end of March.

New here and more into the resilient living aspects but I think just getting together for coffee would be a great idea.

Also check out the thread on the AB forums. We have set up a Meetup group that people can use to advertise events regionally if you want to. Meet up is a pretty effective networking application. Tucker put instructions on the thread.

I am from Lethbridge, and i am willing to meet. My weekend schedule in February is pretty open. Coffee at Timmies would be a good place to meet, that way if you do not like the look of my mustachio you can bail, and I would never be the wiser!

If you take a look at the meetup group you should see an option for RSVP. We have a meeting in mid march. RSVP as soon as you know your going to go. This way, we can rent the appropriate space for the amount of people.

#2 of my 3 group selection is my step-son, DIL and grandkids in Lethbridge. Step-son's extended family in Calgary is huge.
Will be visiting Lethbridge during AB Family Day weekend in case anyone wants to get together for coffee.
