After a year of testing with Phase 1 of my interactive PV system, I upgraded to a full 20kw system that will get me through the short light of winter and heavy energy demand. I also added 16 more Rolls 6v batteries for more storage.

During the floods and power outage, this system and battery bank continued to power the automatic 6 - 8" trash pumps keeping my home dry. Power was down in my area for 4 days and my backup diesel generator did not fire.

Paid for itself on its first major test.

I don't miss Fortis.

Nice set up can I ask where you got everything from and how much about it cost

Preparedness is like a condom , I've rather have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it

A system installed like this would run in the range of 75-80k. Half of what it was just 3 years ago. Knock 40% off if you install yourself.

Component are from all over, most made in China/Japan.

We should create a new thread with all of the images of your impressive and hard-earned investment (sanctuary) that you have posted over the years. New readers to the forum may not realize just how extensive it is and how much sacrifice you made to achieve it in the early years when slaying mortgages and such.

Truly impressive, did you buy or design the way the framework for the panels can be adjusted to a differing angle ? Is that motorized or manual? Sorry I am not mechanically minded in the least so I am in complete awe.

The alluminum support framework is fixed but angled for optimization.

Had to work out issues.

I was producing so much surge electricity that it was popping 60 amp breakers in the charge controllers. I changed the charge control cables to a heavier gage and changed 8 breakers to 80 amp.

Frustrating but necessary as I assumed the 60 amp breakers were continuous.

Gotta say, just wow!!! Amazing set up, thank you so much for sharing this with us, very interesting that it was outproducing the power that was expected, do you think it had to do with the time of the year to a point, or ??

Yes, time of the year and the fact I've left a couple of large spruce trees for shade.

I could set my watch to the breakers popping, 1:10pm and 3:58pm. When the sun came around the trees and full array was exposed.

Wouldn't have been much issue in winter.

Jeezuz! One array of panels is more than I earn in a year. Impressive setup and money well spent.
