Hey all, I thought it might be nice to have a place anyone raising their own animals could put up for sale or trade. I would rather sell or buy from people on this forum than kijiji or other.
We just had our some of our goat does kid out and we have three MALE Nubian dairy goats we will not be able to keep, unfortunately. But...maybe you can add these bucks to your heard? These cute little guys have beautiful color and come from great dairy line. The Nubian goats milk is fairly high in fat, therefore : great for butter and cheeses. Their milk is absolutely delicious and typically they have alot of it.
Their mothers are wonderful milkers and are extremely friendly (pets really!) The kids are 6 days old and 2 days old-so will not be ready for a couple months. The light one is called Double Double. The black one- Casanova. The brown one is lil' Gus.
Update July 5-These three bucklings sold within 2 weeks! Now, I just get to enjoy them for a few months. Better than TV!
I will breed the does again next year.
Adorable!
Great idea to post on this forum! I'm not looking for goats (yet), but eventually will be seeking some chicks/chickens. Would be good to find some from fellow preppers.
I am maybe a year or so away from being ready for chickens, if you would be selling then I too would be interested.
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.
So, we have chicks!! Our wonderfully broody girl has hatched a mix of eggs we stuck under her. Four eggs hatched and we're waiting for the other four to follow. Anyway, I'll put up Picts in a few days-just cause their cute as hell.
But yes, to those that would be interested at a later date (a year or two) -let me know when and I'll try to set it up that they're will be chicks for you when your ready.
So she's our first broody this year-I'm sure one or two more will be sure to follow-so keep June /July in your heads for memory next year!!! Our breeds are- Black Langshan, Buff Brahma, Copper Maran and Partridge Cochins. Our Roo (who is an awesome rooster for his hens but also loves sitting in our lap to get cuddles from kids) is a Copper Maran. So the chicks are a mix for the most part. All breeds have feathery feet. My ducks are Welsh Harliquin breed(awesome layers/meat-friendly breed) photos included.
Update: all chicks and ducklings sold!
The U of A has a program where they raise heritage chickens, so that if there were a virus that decimated the new-fangled breeds we would still have the old ones to fall back on. I know that some springs they sell them at the Spuce Grove Peevy Mart.
Love the info!! Not quite ready to fill the coop, but it's good to have options. Keep the good stuff coming
I see no reason not to post livestock in the barter/sale area located here http://internationalpreppersnetwork.net/viewforum.php?f=78
Just remember...do the actual transactions off the board and IPN shall be in no way responsible for any transactions or issues resulting therefrom.
Thanks, you bet!
Well, next spring I'll be looking for a few hens in and around Edmonton region.
