With 12/21/12 soon to be a distance memorie, I ask the Question what has changed...........Nothing not a " Bleeping thing" we still have Governments hell bent on self destruction, North Korea launching long range missiles, Terrorism still a viable threat and I dont recall Israel and Iran smoking the peace pipe and sweeping there differences under the table....
So with all that I ask you to " STAY FOCUSED" we must be ever more diligent with our preps, and keeping up with current events in the world....
We have put a lot of hard work and excellent contributions here on the forums and with our individual groups and have developed an excellent net work..
The membership here has grown in leaps and bounds and they deserve to be herd and helped and we in the prepping community have a lot to learn from all new members with there excellent contributions...
And with that I wish every one a Very Merry Christmas and all the Very best in the coming New Year....Happy holidays everyone......

December 21 2012 was never a threat to our existence, no more than any other day anyhow.

You are correct, 21 Dec 12 did not occur. This is another time when we were ready but did not need to put of skills or preps into action, this time.
Why are doomsday deadlines/predictions so important?? As those in the prepping community are always trying to be ready at a moments notice to respond to a natural disaster or man-made crisis - both type of these events occur with little or no warning. A doomsday usually has a fixed date of when it will occur. This gives the preppers a fixed deadline to be ready by. It is a part of the checks and balances. An exterior influence that may be TEOTWAWKI event we prepare for but hope never happens. It is the mid-term test, did you pass?? Were you ready if the world did end yesterday?? Did you use this event to find shortfalls in your plans or store of water, food and/or gear??

If this was a mid-term test I passed with flying colours. I gave media hype not the slightest notice and continued my plans for the real possibilities instead of this 2012 drivel.
The only calendar worth watching is probably the debt clock.

Just another day as far as I was concerned. *yawn* I picked up a few more items for the Mormon Cupboard. (Disclaimer: no offense to Mormons intended, in fact I obviously think it's a great idea)
I don't recall where but I did read that 2036 is the next big doomsday event. I guess 'they' have to promote something. 🙄
Than= I’d rather be rich than poor.
Then= I first became hungry then I ate.
There = She is there now.
Their = They have their things.
They're = They're going to the mall.
To = They came to the house.
Too = That's too bad.
It's like that old picture with the frog in the storks bill & his hands wrapped aound the storks neck "NEVER GIVE UP" /// Today I am lablled a "prepper", in the 80's I was labelled a "suvivalist", and for about 15 years in the middle just a plain old "nut"
I never have prepared for the end of the world, but more a continuance of un-interrupted normalcy from the garden variety summer or winter storms, spring floods or fall wild fires (all of which are an annual challenge here in S.E. Manitoba) through to loss of income, a transportation incident, right on upto & including pandemics, economic collapse, riots, droughts & the unthinkable total global nuclear war (which is where I kind of draw the line on wanting to survive anyway's) 😆
In short, I'll close where I opened "NEVER GIVE UP"...
