I have no problem clicking on a member name and checking out their posts.

Perhaps it doesn't let you until after you've posted a certain # of times ( just guessing )

I used to be able to click on a members' names. Then for some reason, unknown to myself, the members' names went black. In other words, no link.
Been that way I would say for a year give or take, if I recollect correctly....

Unfortunately, I had to remove access to profiles a little over a year ago when a small group of troubelemakes compiled a list of email addresses in order to solicit membership for their own forum. I really didn't care about someone opening another forum, but when members complained about getting unsolicited emails, I had to close access. This had the unfortunate result of removing some very helpful features, such as searching another member's posts, but could not be avoided.
Sorry, but sometimes a few bad apples really can spoil the whole barrel.

Those ppl have moved on, why is the restriction still on? I don't understand what good it does now. Except it discourages ppl from reading and digging for info, at least it does for me.

It makes it very hard for ppl that want more info on things to find...dang near impossible actually, if you have to dig tho many posts to find a few that one could be interested in.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I have more things then to be searching mega posts and I suspect others do also, that are trying to get prepared for whatever and the coming winter.

I am almost sure Denob, you have more to do then to chase down posts for ppl as well.

Yea, I have to side with otg on this, He hit the nail squarely,removing features cause of some self promoting asshats is actually working against yourself..I know the possie you refer to, a endless source of amussment at least in my province. They will have soon cut and pasted the entire internet,and still manged to miss anything of value, My name for them is the Wet-P's The P is repeating but I dont know how to Put a bar over the P. Why a repeating P? some inquiring minds might want to know.......I dare you...Pull my finger..

So back to this removed features crap...is it going to stay this way? and why not just punt those , and their hangers on, who try stuff like that...seems a better way to go, and everyone else can carry on.

How about a poll, a show of hands as to who wants the features back? and if anyone starts getting messages from these clowns and their hangers on just report them and have them punted off the board. it just seems like a awfull big hammer for such a little flea. My 2 cents anyway.

Thought I better clairify better..."wet" came to mind as in that expresion your all wet...as in you have it completely wrong and we often get things wrong cause we are P's as in proud, pompus and such, we cant move in the right direction cause we have commited ourselves in other directions because of such failings...ofcourse I see thats not whats coming to mind for others but what does for me...I may not use that going forward, but it sounds so good... to me anyway
