Another good max brooks novel to read is "world war z". I understand its being turned into a movie staring brad pitt lol. Its based AFTER the zombie apocalypse has occured, and humanity is rebuilding. It is written in an interesting format, with each chapter actually being a retelling of the apocalypse through the eyes of survivors. Many different strategies and outcomes that if viewed through a prepper lense could be usefull. Again it is a bit of a stretch, but if you replace the zombies with the unprepared "hordes" that many invision, a lot of the stories can be made relevant for preppers. Stories of group dynamics, starvation, defense, wilderness survival, etc, all done in the background of a zombie apocalypse.

Evenin',

Well my Amazon order arrived. Two new reads: 1) Founders by James Wesley Rawles - part 3 of the Trilogy & 2) Build The Perfect BUG OUT BAG by Creek Stewart.

So, what is in your library??

Mountainman.

All,

I have finished both books. Both are welcome in my library. Founders fills in some more details and sums up the future after the Crunch.

As for Creek's book, it is well thought out and logical. I will argue that the packing of the BOB, needs to have the first aid kit available, not inside the main bag with the extra clothing. Other than that I still highly recommend his book.

Anyone else add a new book to their library lately??

Mountainman.

So Igsbrook, do you have a cube van to move those books, or do you plan to dig in?

lgsbrooks,

The new server seems to have lost my post. 🙂

That is quite a library. Keep it safe!

When you have time let us know some of the other books that might adorn some of your shelves, okay?

Cheers,

Mountainman.

Ranger,

Before you drop kick your new computer, it may just be the server for IPN. I think they rolled the clock back on the old server or used an old backup copy of the server info. So, I am betting a lot of posts made a day or so ago were lost. Just my guess, now I can only laugh about it, not many other options. I just hope windows 8 is prepper friendly and not sending copies of your hard drive to CSIS or NSA or the rest of the alphabet gang. I am sure Bill Gates would never get into bed with the enemy.....I mean the government. 😉

Ultimately Gates would have no idea if one of his underlings placed a spyware code into a program. I believe they are so huge and complicated that no one person has a handle on it all. Just my 2 cents

Martha,

Are we talking the "Must Read Top 10", Top 25, Top 50 or Top 100??

Please give me a day or three to compile a list that is well rounded and on topic.

Mountainman.

PS - Once the list is posted, we will open the gates to reader input for their must read lists.

I like the idea of a top 10 or 25... basically something that is easier to manage.
