I made one last year out of a paint can and some soup cans for the burn chamber. It boils water in about 7 mins... works great. The best one I've seen is made from a 20 pound propane tank.

Have a stove from a propane tank, pocket rocket is next for quick cottage heat and I have plans for a rocket mass heater at the new house.

I also made a wood fired hot water heater from a 100 pound tank, but I damaged the coil when installing it. Other than that it works great..
