Here is a fast water powered generator that a guy made up. I Like the use of everyday junk that he built it with.

And here is a wave generator(I need to see this drive unit)

This water pump is another great idea as the paddle wheel gives it maximum power

Another with some decent water pressure

Spendthrifts are greenies who just don't realize it yet. ;0)=

Neither use trash, *other are pretty expensive, but you may be able to find less expensive parts.
*"both" - No idea where my head is

Moving water - pump water with no electrical use

There may be some DIY specs out there.

Power generation - KISS version: Radiant energy generator/energy converter; Initial battery powers the charging of 4-12x (or more, I've never seen more than a 12x input result) the initial battery, charged batteries then charge others in turn or rotate into a power bank. You can find some massive examples on YouTube.

Build your Own generator:

For those with parts kicking around like an old lawnmower that still runs and and old vehicle with a functioning alternator, check this out.

Making an Eco Fridge

How about turning that Chest freezer you have into an eco-fridge? http://www.aselfsufficientlife.com/chest-freezer-to-fridge-conversion-the-most-energy-efficient-fridge-ever.html

Seems they have a few ideas on how to save energy so maybe even cruise the site awhile as I did.
