Not to sure how many people out there are aware of what wood gas is, and how a gasifier works, but I thought I would bring it up. It's harder to build after shtf but if you like the idea and can build one before, you'll do well with it. I like the idea of having one on a trailer that can both feed my truck and can also power a gas generator, and then in turn power my house and my power tools if needed. While don't expect to power your lights, fridge, freezer and stove all day but a few good hours at a time is possible. For running your truck on wood gas, it's typically accepted that 1lb of wood chucks per mile for a small v8 engine. Now this is a hard project, and very costly and isn't for everyone, I am curious about it and have studied up on the topic. Over the past two years have been finding all kinda of medal for free via work and the metal dump. I know I don't have enough metal to build one as square or round thick tubing is really hard to find in any amount for free. Trying to build for as cheap as possible yet still make it large enough to do what i want to with it. Here's a good video on this topic

I also recommend if you wanna run gas engines with this to build a down draft tar free gasifier. I hope I'll be able to show my every own gasifier one day.

Just a update! Found this and thought others on here maybe interested, it's a portable camp cook stove that also produces energy that you can use via usb to power your phones and other electronic devices. Field tested and proven in 3rd world countries, so should be prefect for camping and prepping activities.

N. America is so far behind the East/mid -east when it comes to Gasifier production. I just found a site that is selling Gasifier units, and it is staggering on how far we are behind them. They have units that can supply a 50 KW generator, or trailer units that has the whole assembly plus generator for running a house.
Here, I've been looking on what’s around and thinking that I might start a business making some and I find this site and I feel like an educated moron.

I was one of the ones that were on the HOLD list for this stove, they held ALL orders until they hit their minimum order target (NO CHARGE to us until shipped).

Just received mine a few months ago, life has not allowed me to test it out as of yet but it looks like a solid product.
