Well, Im new to this network, and wish to contact other preppers in my area. I live in Valemount, and would love to meet more preppers, in my area for discussion and prepping techniques. Thanks, and I am so glad this network exists.

Howdy Folks,

You need to generate more activity folks if you actually want to get a meeting happening. Start posting. Like, once a week. Get your ideas out there. I will be in your area in August. I hope to hear that you will be having a meeting by then. If the time is right, I would not be opposed to dropping in. Our meeting in Bragg Creek went well. We have another in June. The time to get networking is NOW. You need to get things moving. If no one is posting a time and place, take the initiative and you plan it. If no one comes, too bad for them. Pick a place. Pick a date. Pick a time. Many read this site and do not post. If you post a meeting, expect some to show that you have never heard from.

Best of luck. I hope to see more activity here and I would like to meet up. Near the 'Loops, would be fine. Sicamous could work too. Same with Valemount.

Mountainman.

Howie & Hawk,

Good start. You need to create more traffic/chatter. Please, start posting more. Put your 2 cents in. Pick topics that interest you. Can't find the topic, create one. Or start a topic and ask a question.

Maybe pick a date and location and see who shows up. Leaving this open ended, no one will commit.

Keep us posted on how things progress. We support your efforts to create a local network.

Cheers,

Mountainman.

I thought I'd poke in at this and keep it alive

Rather new to the forum. home stead is Kamloops but I wander about a fair bit

I'd say I'm a relaxed prepper. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst...

Nemos,

Good work keeping this thread alive. Would someone take the bull by the horns and set a date for a meeting in the Interior, possibly this summer?? First part of August is looking good to my calender.....anyone??

Keep at it folks. Start posting questions or ideas. Those of you who have 1, 2, or 3 posts, set a goal for yourself that you want to have 5 posts by the end of this week, and 10 by the 15th of June. One post a day. Until this gets comfortable, then post away. 🙂

Cheers,

Mountainman.

Well, in an effort to keep this going - one of my recent purchases was a Seal-a-Meal vacuum sealing machine. Just tried it out for the first time today and it seems to work great. I bought this with the idea of making my own MREs. Gonna try that next - just working with regular groceries and freezing and portioning bulk items for economy. Any other ideas along the same lines that isn't too expensive? Still open to a meet if anyone wants to take the bull by the horns.

Thank you for the welcome it's nice to meet like minded people instead of being attacked and called a tinfoil hat kook.

Our preps so far include 11800 emergency meals, 6000w diesel generator, fuel stores, silver bullion, 5th wheel trailer & bugout location with friends.
I have not stored any rice, oats, flour, sugar, coffee ect. yet but we are working towards that, I have been in contact with the Rogers mill up in Armstrong http://www.rogersfoods.com/ they have a store front so we can buy direct, also they had some good ideas on storing flour and other grains long term.

We are taking our Firearms safety course this month and will be purchasing the required firearms when the licences come.
Any input on which firearms we should have is apprecated, I've got a short list of what I think is best.
SKS 762x39 , Ruger 10/22, any 12 ga. pump shotgun, and a Browning X bolt with scope chambered in .300 win mag.
