Hi there, new to the board. A little about me, I am a professional hunting guide and trapper, I also work in the Alberta oil patch in the winter. I was raised on a farm and although I am relativly new to prepping I have indirectly gained many transferable skills in my life. Part of my reason for getting into this is my concern with the world economy, I enjoy all things finance and stockmarket related and I know that things arent right. I am not convinced of complete collapse is inevitable but I want to be ready in case. And of course I want to be ready for short term problems such as earthquakes, riots etc. I'm 28, live in Abbotsford, BC when not working, I have a wife and a baby due soon. I would be happy to chat with like minded individuals. I believe I can advise on bushcraft/survival, animal husbandry, vegtable/fruit growing and anything firearms related. I am interested in longterm food and water storage and good places for local supplies. Thank-you for your time.

When the game gets scarce hunters go hungry. Trappers will always eat, they might eat weird, but they'll eat.

Hey, sounds like you have ur SH&^% together. I also will be working out in ALTA during winter. My Family is a little older as am i so being away is still a concern but not as great. But u live in ABBY, i am in Clov, we should meet sometime, as well as all others who may see this post. Many of us work away and have family who we leave alone. Would be great to have a small "trusted" group who could look out if need till we could get back home. I always worry about this issue. If at not the least get other Family members on board for what we see coming. e: cps.can@gmail.com

Cpobob62 you might want to split your email address up so that we can understand it but automated web robots cannot i.e. cps dot can at gmail dot com. With all the Google bots etc that troll the site you could end up getting a lot of junk mail.

From Chilliwack here. Sounds like we have a group of similar situations in the valley.
Welder/Fabricator, mechanically inclined, jack of all trades sort.
Happy to share or teach my skills, looking to learn/improve other skills.
Maybe we can get a Fraser Valley Meetup arranged?

Hey guys, I have almost none of the skills you're referring to, but I would love to learn. I camped as a kid, so basic stuff I'm ok with, but would love to expand my base of knowledge. Farming, hunting, bushcraft, metal work, food storage, all areas I'm interested in learning as much as I can. I wonder if maybe a weekly meetup would be something you might be interested in. Sunday afternoon, a couple of hours each time, with a new topic each week. Just a thought, would love to learn from like minded people. Thanks, and welcome to the group sifton.

Hey
I'm in Maple Ridge. I've spent the past 24 years teaching kids and adults how to survive in the woods and not f#*k it up while they were out there.
I'd be interested in learning other skills and teaching basics and some advanced stuff. I have winter camping skills and wilderness first aid and a have held a lvl III OFA
If something gets organized let me know.

Hey all, I'm also relatively new to this blog site and have just started to make connexion with others on this site.
I'm actually meeting with others on the 17th in Coquitlam, however due to living in two communities (Port Moody & Chilliwack) it would be beneficial and helpful to connect with others in the general area.
I see that this specific group has moved to exchanging either email addresses or PMs, and I'm wondering if there has been any arrangements to meet face to like like the upcoming meeting in Coquitlam on the 17th
If there is a group meeting to "get know" others, what is the chance of also attending?
It does Appear that I'm somewhat older than the average respondents, however I truly believe I have some distinct talents that could augment the group.
So, let me know how everyone feels about an additional attendee to any proposed "group meeting" that's being scheduled.
Thanks, looking forward to meet others with the same concerns and planning to not be one of the "sheepal"
