I am a long time prepper who recently found your forum and have been lurking for a bit. I hope to attend one of the meet ups soon.
My grandmother homesteaded in Northern Canada at the turn of the century. She came from a home with all the comforts of the day to build and live in a sod cabin in the north clearing the land and making the wilderness into a productive farm, like so many others. When she reached an age when she could no longer farm she moved to a modern home much closer to town. I was surprised to find her old wood cook stove carefully installed in the basement of her new home. When I asked why she grinned and said, “My dear, things change and we need to be ready if they do”. That was fourty years ago and I guess it shaped my prepping lifestyle. Prepping has allowed me and my family to be comfortable, safe and never hungry whatever life throws my way. I hope I will be able to help some of the new preppers here if needed.
Welcome Amber and greetings from Northern Ontario.
Welcome from Central BC. Always loved those old cook stoves, wish I could find one in good condition at a price I could afford.
The difference between a man and a warrior is simple, a warrior will stand between harm and all others.
Welcome Amber. Nice to have a Pioneer on board. 🙂
Welcome!
When I bought my cabin there was a little cook stove in it. It doesn't have an oven but the top will hold 2+ pots depending on the size. I haven't used it because the wood stove I have lets me cook on top of it. But I was thinking of making an outdoors kitchen to use in the summer and put it in there. They are great to have.
Amber: Your grandmother was an amazing woman!! What wisdom & fortitude............... I'm glad you're wise enough to follow in her steps 😉
I can think outside the box....and then outside the next.....can you??
