There were four various shows in the lower main land last weekend. The chilliwack gun show was good. Scored tons of stuff, but you had to know what you were looking at. Seems some retailers jacked the prices up for the show. I decided I would wait and get some of the stuff after the show and save $$$. Go Figure. Tons of powder, and ammo.
In Abbotsford there was a combo show, Outdoors, and Hunting. Wasn't impressed with 13 bux to get in, and 6 bux for parking, and it seemed mostly for fishermen. Surprisingly, Canadian Tire had a booth for guns. Then there was a travel show in Vancouver. Never bothered to go figuring it was probably 'anti-gun', and 'pro-kumbia'.

I picked up some killer deals on projectiles for reloading, at the Cloverdale show. That was a surprise. Walked out hauling a cart full of deals. Hope the Kamloops Show tomorrow is the same.

Yup, this was an awesome show. Picked up tons of stuff I never thought I would get, even on line. Pricing, was fantastic, but you had to know what you were looking for (ie. Bore snakes were to be had from 15 to 25 bux). Lots of powders if you reload. Tons of projectiles, bulk ammo, and we noticed a lot of merchants selling reloaded ammo (I personally stay away from it). Lots and lots of hard to get parts if you are building that perfect rifle.

Surprisingly, we were at the show 10 minutes before it opened and the line was already wrapped around the building. Everyone seemed to be in great spirits. That made for a fun time. We finally got into the show at about 9:20 with some new found friends. We were really surprised at the number of women who were buying firearms. Lots of prep talk, and there seemed to be a common concern regarding the economy.

Another surprise was the petition to try to change the Firearms Act to allow pistol carry while in the back country. Good luck with that. Now I have to save my pennies for the next show.

Its too bad that Kamloops (or Abbotsford/Chilliwack) areas don't support an all-round prepper/bushcraft/survivalist show.

With the concept of emergency preparation going more mainstream, maybe its time for something like this.

I'd love to get some good deals on other prep items besides firearms.

There were prepper supplies at the shows. Got a book written by Douglas Fraser from Langley. Lots of info. He had some interesting insights into prepping and bugging in vs bugging out.. I think part of the problem is when there are three shows on the same weekend. Where do prepper supply companies go to get the most exposure?
