OK, you live in the city or suburbs and you want to prep but food and water takes up to much space and you think about bug outs constantly. PVC TUBES and END CAPS! Go to the hardware store and pick out 4 inch 6 inch and eight inch tubes with end caps and Marine grade caulking/sealant. Make what we call an emergency 6 pack. Cut pieces of tubing 1 and a half feet in length, sealing one end completely tight with the Marine sealant and caulking. Fill with bags of rice or rations, water in bags, survival gear, weapons packed in grease and meds if necessary. Its your kit you put what you want in it. Make sure to put moisture packs in the containers with non packaged food ie, rice etc. Seal the end cap lightly so as not to cause severe frustartion when you need to get back at it. You should be able to break the second seal with a pocket knife, WHICH WE ALL CARRY, RIGHT? Now stack your tubes side ways and using plumbing straps or cordura nylon straps either connect three over three tubes with the fasteners or do the same bradeing the cordura nylon straps, weaving in and around the tubes to create a back pack. Don't get frustrated as you can use whatever you have to tie these tubes into a pack of six but remember you will need to wear it like a pack when the time comes. Place a cut of foam to the tubes which will be closest to your back and hot glue the foam from top to bottom. Using the same straps, come over top and connect to the bottom of the six pack. With more foam, wrap around your shoulder straps for comfort and if you have duct tape place some around the shoulder straps. You may duct tape your tubes together but straps are better. OK so now you have your pack and guess what....IT FLOATS. So make as many as you need to store around your home for easy exits you could easily carry. If you have to escape from flooding, ie KATRINA, everything is sealed and can be pushed on water before getting help. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PROJECT.

I've been thinking of using the PVC tubes for awhile now. They'd be great for a cache along your bug out route.

Yes Indeed. Give it a good seal of silicone if you dont want to bury it for too long and away you go. I have approximately thirty or fourty cache stashes in the Lower Mainland all using non metalic/Ballistic nylon weapons and food/water. I have several communication sites with parts in different places or what is called a Binary system. In other words you cannot do anything with the parts you find until all are completely found and put together. HINT....what can you use that could be made BINARY.

BINARY, I never thought of that before. Now I gotta start considering what I can start using binary. Cool.
