First lets see who's up for what and what day.
Myself first. I'm a Burnaby resident, and I go anywhere accessible by skytrain with ease. If its beyond that I'm willing to make the effort, because this is important to us all.
Time: I think a weekend would be best for most people. Saturday or Sunday in the afternoon (not evening!) because if we are productive we can then continue right into the evenings, and everyone will be able to get home with a good nights rest.
Location: Burnaby works for me and I can have a place for us to meet ready anytime. Probably the best choice would be the Surrey area, the hub between the City areas of the Lower mainland and the more rural Langley, Aldergrove, and Abbotsford. If we need a room or somewhere to speak, I'm sure I can set that up and find a place. Everyone wants our business, so if we bill ourselves as customers wanting a place to chill out consistently we WILL get the privacy and location we need.
I think biweekly meetings would be best as well. It was proposed that we do two meetings in the original SHTF Village topic, one on the weekend and one in the week. I think this is also a good idea. The more we can talk to each other the better.
If your interested in this, please post your city of residence and what times work best for you. It is the weekend of May the 11th. Lets get these meetings going ASAP! We are not blessed with an abundance of time!
Just a hello from the Williams Lake area, and wishing you success on getting your regular meetings going. One of our network members recently met with one of you. two networks working together can become an excellent beginning to a barter and trade system. You are right Laurelian; we do not have much time. Just in the last month Cyprus confiscated 60% of bank deposits over 100 thousand euros and Steven Harper has said it is a model for all countries to follow if they should find themselves in financial crisis. Israel has bombed Syria twice, and a bombing today in a Turkish town on the Turkish border with Syria has brought Nato intervention in the crisis to the verge. The Japanese Yen has been devalued 35% since Xmas. We are living in a fool's paradise.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who realizes the urgency of the situation. I think a key part is getting out networks to really begin to work together. At that point we will begin to coordinate on a larger scale, and of course we should!
Multiple prepper groups, cohesive and work together? We'd be productive and well supplied to be sure.
