Well the past five weeks have been hectic to say the least but very rewarding.
Two road trips to Vancouver Island for work. Found this company in Victoria, www.harresons.int@yahoo.com (military surplus) They have lots of stock, good clean stock, NO crap. Nice little shop (compared to Cabellas) fair prices for good quality items. If you are in Victoria check them out. Oh and the owner is ex military so he knows his shit no BS.
Organized a event for the local Scouts Canada groups call Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) This is an event that joins scouting youth and local Ham radio clubs in making contact with Scouting groups around the world (160 countries are involved) We had 86 youth and 14 adults join the event here in the Ridge. Now that was fun.
Re certified my level OFA III first aid. I'm getting too old for this type of training, that's the physical demands.
Did you know that most municipalities sponsor first aid programs? They also are cheap to attend.
Qualified for my Advanced Amateur Radio Radio License. This was fun and not all that expensive ($40.00) Now comes the costly stuff the "RIG". Now looking for used equipment. I was surprised by the number of teenagers at this course the young pair beside me were only 15 yrs. He got 99% and she got 100% on the test. I didn't get that high 89%.
Ok enough of my yapping have a great one.
