do you feel a need to build a survival camp? are you new to it like me? wondering how your going to accomplish this before the end of the year? maybe you dont have much, or cash is low, whatever the case... im in the same boat. iv been planning for two years now, location is CENTRAL BRITISH COLUMBIA. problem has always been having enough group support. i recently aquired a miner cerificate, and a gold claim, so im building a survival camp near-by in the mountains. im looking for other folks to step out with me this year and start building something together. at the very least help share the work and secure a place to belong to. looking at fishing, hunting, trap lines, foraging herbs and edible wild, natural energy sources, survival training, new construction practices, and so much more. but to start it will be slow going, so with a bit of support it should prove to be worthwile. what i need is, good hard working folks, or at least eager to step out and learn. im willing to share what i have to get where we need to be, so if you have the means to get there, ill welcome you fully. just message me, or comment, and ill reply...i plan to start prepping next month, and head out at first sign of the snow gone in the mountain valleys. probly by end of may, but the end of april to begin training and climatizing. while your here you can pan some gold for extra needs, and transportation will be there too. im seriouse about the volunteering, and yes, you keep whatever you find in gold, its a good gold claim with great potential. the aim should be to prepare a survival camp, to know how to live outside of city life. to learn how to live, grow gardens and co-egist with the nature around us. anyway, i have a family, and a couple cousins, but i know theres a lot of folks out there looking for opportunity, well.... all you gotta do is knock and lay your cards on the table. ill be making plans to group up soon, and im very interested in the whole survival camp, kid safe and family environment. yet theres more... a comunity needs all kinds of folks, especialy teachers, doctors, hunters as well as gather'ers... so there it is, hope to hear from you guys and gals... prepare, preserve, protect... Darin -equal opportunity-
Well I sent you a message awhile back now and havn't heard anything.
And - no other person has yet even posted a response.
And - no other person had anything to say about the evac drill I proposed.
Does anyone use these forums? Now I'm starting to feel like a crazy foil hat. I'm on here EVERY DAY. Wasting time hitting refresh hoping someone had something to say:P
Likely not the community for me as I think I need a more focused group to work with. Best of luck!
Anything new?
confounded unforseen disturbance. well in that case i guess ill carry on as well. yes they should be tingling. i been prepareing by researching and in my quest i got flagged. well no other reason for going over the "unlimited" time, in 10 days. or the computer shutting down on government sites. yes its true, that my information has gone out to all government. example: turned down on wellfare after my heart attack, income tax with-held, colection agency issues court pappers, gas co demands 3000 deposit, electrical bill increases, computer shut down and wont re-boot, or freezing frames with unrecognizable virus. so i thank you for the interest, if you got my e-mail then theres an avenue for contact anytime and anyplace.im heading that way in a couple weeks, to set my plans ito motion. i have one buddy coming with me, two cousins coming out this summer, and another buddy from vancouver and his son meeting me out there. the cottonwood highway, between quesnel and barkerville, at the gold claim. from there its a short distance to the mountain area for a survival camp. once again all are welcome, no money but you have experiance, or tools and equipment, c'mon out...send msg first and additional info will be sent. this is an open camp, looking to increase network and society size. sorry about the computer shutting down, i cant even get into my blog site, or survival page...grrrr. so now im stuck with my e-mail. and the wifes computer, {she doesnt have the programs needed}... so slow. wont load, and no network. anyway thanks again, prepare, preserve protect.... Darin e-mail [nirad@live.ca]
I'm a newb to the whole prepping thing and to this network. But I would defensively be interested in volunteering, shoot me a msg with some more details 🙂

Hey, we are pretty active on the Alberta site; so if you ever want to confirm that you're not crazy, come on over for a spell and try on our foil hats. Most of our discussions are knowledge-based, not necessarily geographically based. Also, the general Canadian threads are quite active. I'm just now starting to venture into the BC, SK, MB threads myself.
Back to the Thread...
How far is this mining camp from Calgary?
Knowledge is the key to survival.
Hello,
I,too am new to all this with a large family ( 5 children ). But I am no stranger to hard work, I have a background in construction and operating cranes and heavy machinery. Would really like to be able to safely move my family out of the mainstream without drawing too much attention.
I have been canning and preserving food like crazy. All while trying to explain to my children....well the older boys ( 16 & 14 ), that I'm not crazy. Been trying to stock up on dried goods too.
But to be able to help and get help building in the wilderness would be excellent. I still have a long ways to go.I have managed to get a cooking portable source with fuel but still collecting. We are trying to leave with only the basics and necessities plus a few extras for the really little kids ( 3 under 5 ).
Right now I'm all over the map and not sure which direction to go in first.
Thanks, all help welcome.
I'm already in the area but would be interested in meeting up and helping out anyway I can.
The difference between a man and a warrior is simple, a warrior will stand between harm and all others.
Good stuff Darin .. you really need to just step up and start, which is what you seem to be doing so good show.
I have started developing something about an hour or so from your local. So I am also in the area but not looking to live that rough, until I have to, but I do agree with have a hidey hole back in the woods for just in case.
So hope to see your project develop good to know your neighbors 🙂
@mamabearof5 ... keep up the good work acquire as you can, prep as you can, it's great to be ready for what comes but, we must all survive today and tomorrow first.
Things I say are my opinion, which is like belly buttons everybody has one.
