If there's a healthy contingent of Chilliwack/Abbotsford/Mission people for certain attending, I would suggest we make the meet a touch more central — perhaps the Tim Hortons at the Whatcom Road (Castle Fun Park) exit.

Or perhaps we can pull it a bit more west, say in Langley for those Delta residents...lol. I woul dlove to hook up with ya all, Chilliwack is a bit far east for me though.

Hey Sormtrooper, and OffThePath nice to here from you 😀 I agree with you OffThePath on the distance but with some thought ( I dont do that often 😆 ) I was reading on establishing safe houses so to speak on the way to folks chosen BOL. Seems like a good idea and using the valley as it is ( kind of linear if you catch my drift ) a safe set of locations for preppers along the route (say outa the valley) this approach may be good for someone like yourself. Givin a SHTF situation lets face it if trying to travel and getting only 10 miles due to circumstances may be a very good drive total. To have a 2, 3, or even more locations to meet up and rest or carry on together OR even carry on separate ways may be a really smart idea. Anyones thoughts?

So based on that Id support the Whatcom exit to make things somewhat closer for all for sure. I might be able to help someone from West of me while others may become my saviour to the East of me.

Lets keep up some dialog here and get some interesting things on the table for discussion? Might be a great way to launch into a next gathering and give us some interesting things to share that have been built on discussion here.

I'm game for Whatcom Rd. as a meeting spot. Safe Houses would be a great network to setup. Having like-minded people you could rely on for help, should you have to Get Out Of Dodge. and couldn't get all your cached goods in time.

Whatcom road is it then, I'm good with that. topics buggin in/ out. On the move, Only really 1 highway out of the valley south of the fraser, and west of Abby; pro/cons. portable alternate power, resourcing materials. Just stuff I've been thinking of. Just need to set a date, perhaps 1st weekend in March on a Sat?

Not that I am trying' to be a jerk...but we're competing with a high school reunion?? Really? 😕

Even if that was a concern of sorts, aren't those things usually in the eve, whereas a prepper meet would be an afternoon... But I may be off base here how these two extraordinary events may clash...lol...and I am just havin' fun. 😆

😀 As far as I can see fellas there has been no talk of the March 1st weekend. A few of us have already sit down and gotten to know each other. I assume you were speaking of sitting in on the gatherings we have and I do believe we are having one in the very near future. There are a few that have a conflicting schedule but it will be rectified and we can get a date set soon Im sure.

Ppeppersaurus have you boiled water with your small stoves yet? Curious as I was watching a really nice one being built and I should get on it. Should have it done to show you.

Jistmoi are you local upper fraser valley or? Glad to see you and Stormtrooper share an interest.

I missed out on the last one due to work and hopefully this one will not be the same situation.
My vote for a date would be for anytime March 4 - 9.
Work calls steady for the next 3 months otherwise.

Any one making plans for the next meeting yet? My in-laws are in Mission and would like to make it too. They are not overly fond of any list that might get them noticed by big brother. Father-in-law grew up in Nazi oppressed Germany so it is kinda easy to understand. I might be able to pm his email to anyone in Mission area who would like to meet up as start a more local network as it is easier to reach in the event of an emergency.

Ok all sorry for the delay but I have been really busy here on my end with work Yada Yada yada. Id like to set the date for the next GTG for the Sat 23rd of March. Lets do the Timmies at Whatcome road and #1. Im liking the 11am show and hope that gives everyone enough time to get their mojo up and running and be there for 11am.

Interested in meeting the few whom may make it out for the first time. Im sure we all have different ideas and reasons for our preparations so nothing is taboo as far as Im concerned and you may also be reserved as you like. We are out to learn and meet and hopefully something blossoms out of all the fine ideas. Until then folks be safe and feel free to chime in and let us know you are out there. Everybody has something to contribute and I personally like to see the couple thing. It brings another side to the picture and right now we have a pretty good mix of men and women so please feel free to bring your significant other.
