Sounds good to me. I'm coming through there on either the 4 or 5 of June enroute to Van. and am coming back the following week. Always interested in meeting up with others in the area.

Alright everybody! After talking with a few members on this thread, it seems there might be some intrest to have a meeting at the local Tim Hortons here in Williams Lake. So alas we have nailed down a date. The meeting will take place on Sunday June 14th, at 6pm. There has already been a couple people to confirm they will attend, all are welcome. The more the merrier. Come on out, say hi, introduce yourself, have a coffee and we will go from there. I should be easy to spot, as I will likely have the biggest beard in the whole place, and could possibly be wearing a cowboy hat! Hope to see you there!

There are more of us out there in the Williams Lake area than one might think. At this point, being a small town, I am not sure a coffee is worth destroying OPSEC. Maybe I'll just sit in the corner and watch...

Dang it. So I got called into work last minute. So I won't be able to make this meeting. But I have a couple good friends who will be there so they will give me the run down afterwards I'm sure. So I guess there really is no intrest in the Williams Lake area huh? The only people that showed up to this were my two buddies and my wife, and some creepy old guy in the corner who watched. Odin Grey??? Guess there is NOT "more of us in the area then you think." Oh well if anyone in the area ever IS interested feel free to let me know. But 95% of the people on thos forum in ALL areas have already proven they are more talk then action, so I certainly will not hold my breath.

Hey heavychev, I understand you not being able to make it. You are a four hour drive away so it is understandable. Stuff happens. My comment is more towards the talkers and the people who are too scared to do anything other then sit in a corner and watch...which happens quite frequently. I have attended many of these meetings in the Fraser Valley so I know. AAnyways if you are ever in the area let me know we will do coffee.

Howdy all in and around williams lake....i have been away from this site for a while...i meet chilcotin and arronbouge personally a few years ago very stand up honest men. I was worried at first about stepping out of comfort zone etc on this site as well. Best decision i made was meeting these two guys. Glad i did, the coffee was good and the visit was beter . Words on a screen are one thing but getting together and meeting each other is most likely going to help us all later on down the road. My 2 cents.

I have had a bad experience with prep-group type people (in a previous community - not Williams Lake) that makes me a bit "gun shy".
Plus, I hang out on APN and other American sites which contributes to my paranoia.

But, look at the good side: you took your wife out for coffee!

sorry to hear that it didn't go well. 🙁 I suppose its a learning curve.....Im a little leary here to just don't want to attract the wrong people. Need to have people around who understand our economy and the state of world affairs and how we are being affected.
