I loved the article, the info in the second half of the article is a smarter rout. The best measure is to keep your rigs and coax and antennas out of harm's way. A surge suppressor is giving a false sense of security cause your still exposing your TX equipment end to the emp. Consider that everything is exposed at the same time in the affected area and leaked into your equipment from power and antenna outside the affected area. It would be like putting an umbrella over your coax and antenna but leaving your power supply and rigs in the rain. I'd use a cheap Rx device for monitoring the air waves while keeping everything else emp free. In the event of an emergency you have a working station ready to go to work.
Nice love reading it. It has lots of informative info thanks for posting it sir.
Check-out the EMP Apps..at least you may get enough warming to put your cell into your faraday cage...?
