Online radio scanner feeds

If your going to purchase a scanner, you will have to program in each individual channel you wish to scan. These include the OPP(which varie greatly from region to region), your local police,RCMP, ambulance and fire departments(local & area wide), MNR and Dept of Highways. Consider too the local airport traffic, then the FRS walkie-talkies and the Amateur Radio bands for your area. All these occupy about 200 channels for my area, so this gives you an idea that you want at least a 300 channel unit to start with.

If you don't have a scanner yet, there are sometimes online sources for listening. This one covers my local airport, regional police, local fire and ambo. It can be quite addicting at times. Also quite depressing too. I mean they don't call these guys when good things happen.

There's something we rarely hear is noise on the scanner. We usually just turn them on to catch up on the news up here. When something does happen, we usually hear it thru the fastest news source first(gossip), and then tune in for awhile to filter out and separate the the facts from the BS.....cause the authorities gossip too!
