suspects located, identified, and one is dead, one in hospital in custody. The MIT police shooting was attributed to them, they hijacked a vehicle, let the driver go; another officer wounded in gunfight with them; the two were brothers. the elder was badly wounded in police gun battle, his brother backed over him escaping that location, and elder brother died at hospital. Younger brother wounded, citizen spotted blood and bloodied man hiding in a boat in his neighbors' backyard, and suspect was taken into custody after a short gun battle. his condition is serious, but he is expected to recover. now the big question, which i hope he will answer.....why? his life is pretty much over in that i would not call prison any kind of life. Speculation is that they have so much video evidence that they do not need to ask him whether or not he did it, but many would like to know why a naturalized citizen, a good college student, with no prior political leanings, would be setting bombs. The family is originally from Chechnya, a volatile and once war-torn southern Russian republic. The family fled to Kyrgyzstan and eventually immigrated to the United States as refugees about 10 years ago.
His brother was radicalized enough that the russian govt notified the FBI they should interview him several years ago; perhaps his brother talked him into it, but dead men don't talk much. It should be interesting what further investigation determines.
