For those that live in British Columbia, is there a worry or an alert about radiation levels higher than normal or acceptable from Fukushima?
I have read/ heard conflicting reports and statistics. Can anyone clarify please?

Let me play what if... (This is for everyone worried about rads)

What if the levels are off the chart high? Are you prepared to move tomorrow?

What if they are super low? If so are you worried about nothing?

My point is if you are prepared to move immediately I would think you could afford Geiger counter. If not then you are stuck there stressing about it for nothing since your last days would be better spent doing other things than being stuck there wondering what day the sickness will hit.

This might help. This is a map of civilian monitoring sites. It also has an alert section. http://radiationnetwork.com/
I got my detection equipment from eBay a few years ago and it was not that expensive.

Point is...we don't live there, yet. But were considering it. We don't want to relocate somewhere only to worry about thyroid cancer within a year. A geiger counter would be a needful purchase if we did relocate. Would we move if levels went up? YES.
This is simply research.

IRCC- Thanks for the graph but it doesn't cover Canada.

This is the EPA map of monitoring sites: http://www.epa.gov/radnet/radnet-data/index.html

Again it is not Canadian but if you include Alaska and Hawaii along with the State of Washington you get good idea of the conditions on the west coast. Health Canada does monitor levels but it chooses not to post them in real time.
