Hey, you might want to stock up on bacon... or not depending on how bad it gets.

Something to keep an eye on.

Thanks for that comment about stocking up on bacon , I use it primarily for flavouring soups and casseroles and such but have a wee bit extra in the freezer is a good idea in light of any potential disruptions .
Very interesting reading, will have to ask vet about it in regards to Canada?

dicovering pig virus in canada this week
no bacon for me ,
Been following it closely, how they think it got here is what is just sad, they used pig blood plasma in Pig Feed, so that means that the adults who were butchered where carriers in their blood, and the process it was done to dry it, and use it in the feed didn't stop the virus and so at last count 20 farms in Ontario had it just "pop" on their farms due to the feed..
They say they have recalled the food, they think they have a handle on it, and yet this morning, there was a case confirmed now in Quebec, I am so glad that I don't feed pig feeds to my own stock, they get whole, soaked, sprouted or fermented grains, with my own personal pigs getting farm raised protein, raw whole milk etc

i hope they will take care of that problem fast
