Well, this one should go down in history: the great 2020 Worldwide TP Shortage!
As the news outlets went from rail blockades to COVID19, it was only a matter of time before they had to start reporting on another crazy story... Runs on TP! With flashbacks of soviet news reels where people line up to procure TP, we now see folks lining up at COSTCO at 7am to fill 3 carts full of enormous TP packages (which makes me wonder what kind of vehicle they have in the parking lot...).
No worries, HP keeps a health stash of TP, so I’m far from worried. Butt (I couldn’t resist) what could happen if the shortage extends beyond the 2 months worth I have routinely stashed? No more Sears or Eaton catalogues, no more phone books, and hardly any newsPAPER to be found! Did the world rid itself of TP backup.?.?
On a more serious note, What other options are there? What are your TP plans?
I am very concerned about this, if this continues for another couple years, my up stairs bathroom supply may start getting low! I would then have to start drawing down my basement bathroom stores 😀

Ok, While I do find it amusing to a point that everyone is ah.. toilet paper.. maybe there should be a bit more.. Ah, food, med's and cleaning stuff.. did I already say food!
We have a good supply.. but the answer you are asking about is google Family cloth.. I find that the packs of the really soft baby wash cloths work best, and while you can use any little bucket in a pinch.. if you want something that looks nice. a compost bucket words like a trick.. got a nice handle, designed to keep smells out and more..
Its like running a small cloth diaper bucket but with very tiny amounts of the #2.. as for number one.. for us ladies.. its easier to just wash out our family cloths right afterwards..

Honestly, we have about a 2 year supply of TP.
Could last longer with rationing (anyone remember a show called You Can't Do That On Television?)
Family cloth is the backup.
I've seen people on Facebook Prepper groups suggesting baby wipes.
Since we are on septic, I hesitate as those things can float to the liquid side of the tank and end up blocking the leech field.
Been there, done that, and it takes a lot of chemicals to clear it...not interested in having another "septic overflow".

The results were that a) some people only buy one pack per 2 weeks payday and they are pissed that other people have more b)I buy when its on sale and often have a couple months supply, I don't understand it.. people have lost their minds
But those were the minor voices..

She needed to go to Innisfail (just outside red deer alberta) to get this and that.. and the talk of the town was that there was currently no toilet paper for sale BUT they were all talking about a dude in town on Kijji that was selling a single roll for 3 dollars each..
