Not sure where to post this, but hoping someone can help me.
I am trying out some recipes found on the Internet that calls for a stick of butter. Now, how much does your average stick of butter weigh?
Our wrapped blocks(sticks?) weigh 500gms- roughly a pound.
Are they the same?
Thanks.
a stick is 1/4 of a pound. Sometimes they package our butter with the pound divided into 4 separately wrapped lengths or "sticks"

Thanks for the reply Martha. Yes that makes sense, looking at recipes for sweet things. They consistently ask for 125gms- a stick-of butter.
I am trying recipes outside my "comfort zone" i.e. lentils, etc and finding quite a few surprisingly good. Something I feel I need to do before whatever event happens and not to shock the kids too much!
Sorry about the double posting. Not quite sure how that happened.Quick trigger finger? 🙂
Good planning Kiwi! Better to acclimatize now as much as possible. If you get any great bean or lentil recipes, pls share! I'm a part time vegetarian, often sick of cooking the same thing. When life slows down a bit, will experiment more.
