When you buy a party sized take out of coffee from Tim Horton's it comes in a mylar bag supported by cardboard, hopefully you know what I'm talking about. As a janitor I'm constantly throwing these things out, but just wondering if they might be re-purposed to store food. What do you think?
They work well to keep your water cold on hot days, even in the sun.
So they're insulated - or the cardboard does it. I suppose if you put water in it would always taste faintly of coffee.
Would the Mylar stand up to freezing? They're flexible enough for expansion but designed for hot, not cold.
Might be worth seeing how they react when filled with water and then frozen.
