I have purchased from Greta's Organic Gardens http://www.seeds-organic.com/ in Gloucester, ON (Ottawa): non-GMO, open-pollinated, certified organic.
I've just discovered Richter's and they carry a large selection of seeds and plants, especially medicinal ones. http://www.richters.com/ (Goodwood, ON)

Tho I must admit I don't use them often, only because I save my own seeds.
Last year I had bought and planted their Squash (spaghetti pasta).
Mine had crossed the year before and I tossed all those seeds.
The new seeds had produced two different results on the same plant.
Wrote them and told them along with pictures. I placed no blame on them, but whomever grows their seeds for them.
I got a response right back from them!
They asked if I kept the empty pkgs, I had.. they wanted the numbers on the pkgs.
I gave them the numbers and they went about searching the place were the seeds came from.
I get an email back, saying they would send me more seeds when the new ones where out.
Over a month ago, they sent me 6 pkgs in place of my 2 pkgs I had bought. 😮
I never expected that many.
They also said to let them know how those new ones turn out.
Now to me, a company that gives that kind of service and care, deserves a mention for sure.
At first I was not going to worry about 2 pkgs of seeds @ $1.89, thinking that I would steer clear of them. Cause most companies will give you lip service at best, was I in for a surprise. 🙂
Then I got to thinking that many others would have had the same problem.
And if no one said anything, they would continue to sell seeds that they had no way of knowing weren't what they were advertising.
It pays to speak up, if only to give a company a chance to make it right, if they are a honest company.
They were honest and they did make it right, so thats why I am recommending them. 🙂
A sense of humor is absolutely essential to survival.
Agreed. It isn't that mistakes are made. Its what you do about them that counts. For a little extra effort they kept a customer and changed negative word of mouth into positive word of mouth. One reason you got a good response was good documentation and they didn't feel it was just another scam job.
A ittle goes a ong way, i have had good service, replaced and or credited and i ordered from a very small supplier and i was to growing amish paste and i got little tiny cherry and even with photo's and info provided, she said she would refund, never heard again, small loss in the sense of only three dollars plus shipping, bigger loss as i had wanted to seed save off that tomata.. it was a very active nice cherry but not what we were looking for.

I picked up some McKenzie Heirloom
1) Contender (bush) green bean
2) Armenian cucumber
3) Bonny Best tomatoes
for $2.29 per pack at Home Hardware.
I just happened to be in there and saw the seed display so don't think it was a seed hunting trip. 😆
Than= I’d rather be rich than poor.
Then= I first became hungry then I ate.
There = She is there now.
Their = They have their things.
They're = They're going to the mall.
To = They came to the house.
Too = That's too bad.
I LOVE that company!!
Service, variety, history behind so many seeds... did I mention they're fast?
I also like T&T Seeds.

If you know of places that sell non GMO or hybred seeds, be it for gardens, herbs, or even larger crop cover or animal fodder etc, please feel free to add a link so that we have a single place for all the new and old time gardeners to check out..
I have been using this excellent seed source for very hard to find seeds for a couple years, they have good seeds, the price is higher but if you seed save its reasonable, and use the website or the email or snail mail because getting them by phone is near impossable..

Look forward to see where everyone else is buying seeds..

WOW!
That is some awesome service, for sure!
I was wondering what kind of company they were, so thank you for this.
And you are right...they don't know what unless someone tells them.
