Got 4 strawberry plants into a bed this morning...
Whatever isn't in the ground yet, will be by the end of this long weekend.
I still need to find a place for and build a small bed for my asperagus.
That bag of composted manure from Farmgal along with heaps of my compost is coming in handy!
Got the cub tractor going last weekend got the garden plowed and then watched it rain all week and this weekend oh well mabey next weekend might get something in the ground. want to try a few rows of mangels this year and if they turn out mabey a half acre or so next year to help with the winter feed.
Got my bush beans planted this weekend, but slow going. Have seedlings to get into the ground ASAP, including tomatoes, peppers, melons, squashes, eggplant. Will be a busy week because I have to dig up new garden space. It will all be worth it in the end though 🙂
Five days of rain and wind, and do I ever mean wind!! crazy nuts wind.. nothing got planted, the rain would just wash out the seedlings and the wind and the heavy rains mean no planting out the greenhouse plants either.. on the other hand the things up and going in the garden, if they could handle the wind, loved it, and are growing like mad! I swear my winter onions grew six inches over the past couple days.. so so much yet to be planted in and Dh took the week off to help with the planting, didn't work out that way, we cleaned in buildings and spent way to much time learning and working with the cow who calved on Monday..

just planted out, cucumbers, summer and winter squash and lots an lots of pumpkins yesterday..

Some parts of our garden are amazing! others have flooded out and now been replanted once or twice, and only time will tell us if we need to redo a few spots from the lastest pouring rains.
I know that I would be interested in a few of those cucumber plants, that's aweseome that your garden has been rocking along, part of the reason that your gardens are doing so great is because its new land (correct), its always amazing to me how many people will use the same "garden space" for years and years and while they add lots of this or that, they rarely think to break new land and fallow the older used land, it can make such a difference.
The weather, heat, humid and lots of rain has been perfect for things to be sprouting and growing like mad, when you do your research you will find that for a good number of plants and seeds the soil temp makes a huge difference in how it will grow.
I have a basic rule of thumb, plant this, when it get this big, typically you can plant this and when its up and at this point, plant out the rest of the summer/heat/warm soil, well unless of course you use a heat mat in the house to get things started or ground covers etc.
Look forward to photos and updates. hope you didn't get that hail that came though!

On account of my working up north most of the summer, I didn't get to plant my garden this year! But, I've tried setting up an aquaponics system. I've got an old stock tank, a used greenhouse hydroponics tray. I bought the last 3 tomato and pepper plants at the greenhouse and a thyme plant. So far, not too bad, since the tomatoes came with 4 red tomatoes! (2 of which the dog ate!)
wow great pictures...love the trellis. How did you make it?
This is by far the messiest looking garden I've ever had but also the one with the least pest problems. Since going no-till all last year's plants have a chance to reseed. Leaving them there must bring in beneficial insects as I've had very little damage this year. The soil is so loose now you just grab a weed and gently pull till the whole thing comes out.
The red orach has been the best new discovery, much more hardy than spinach and I think better taste too. This was taken July 5. The trellis right is completely covered now with beans, tomatoes, tomatillo.
looking great guys, here Is the last photo of my planned 700 square feet squash garden that has grown by three times in size, with the plants, its fitted in between to food forest guilds on both sides in a no till, straw bed with hill planting.

That's one hard working cat!
How did you train it to push a wheelbarrow full of squash?
