WOW!
I almost can't believe it...
Over at the Canadian Preppers Network Blog, Anita posted an article about homemade deodorant for long term storage.
In just a few days, the article has now attracted 2838 views and is likely responsible for 6 new member joining in the same time frame.
This beats my personal best, and until now, a blog record of 2587 views!
Am I ever glad she's on our side!
Congrats to Anita, the CPN's own PRECIOUS PEARL !
Check out the post here...

Anita,
Congrats.
The basic homemade toothpaste?/toothpowder is to mix equal parts salt and baking soda. I think that is the combination.
Cheers,
Mountainman.
Congratulations Anita 😀

By the way Anita, you have lots of questions to answer in the comments!
I believe the term here is...
VIRAL
But where did they all come from???? I answered most of the questions at 4am 🙂 but the comment didn't show up until much later this morning. We just hit 4600...I know deodorant is important but someone somewhere must have cross-posted a link back to us last night at around supper time because holy-moly that's a lot of people 🙂
Wouldn't it be nice to think they were all awakened preppers - if not I have done my duty to the smelling world (of which I am not a part!) to keep us all smelling good for years to come!! ha ha!!
P.S. Thanks for your kind words of congratulations but I don't think I had much to do with it. I personally thought my 10 stages of food storage post would get more attention... I will however continue my day looking bemused, checking the numbers for fun, while trying to keep up with the comments and making toothpaste!

I have to moderate most comments manually, so I post them every few hours when I check the blog.
Weird, I thought the 10 stages would be bigger too!
I will be trying this out. I get a bit of a reaction from most commercial deodorants - anything with perfumes for sure, but even some normal ones. Arm and Hammer seems to be alright for me. I can get by on Gillete sport gel (or whatever it is) but it still seems to react, as I get quite itchy and irritated under my arms when I'm using it.
Thanks very much for this!

Hey runswithscissors I always smile when I read your name 🙂 If you have sensitve skin use arrowroot powder instead of the corn starch!

Congrats!!!!
Congratulations! Viral... the good kind. 😀
Food will get you through times with no money, but money will not get you through times with no food.

Hi, I'm a newly registered member here. You asked where they all came from - I saw a post in CityData's self sufficiency & prepper forum with a link to your blog so I went and looked at it, that's how I found this forum. That post has had 258 views, and the person who posted it had received the link to your blog from somebody else.
Here is the link to the post that was made in CityData - check it out:

Nice blog, and I'm very pleased to have discovered this forum - I've also passed on the links for both the forum and your blog to another forum of like minded people.
Welcome dioptase! Welcome to Canadian Preppers. Well - that explains some fo it 🙂 We just went over 6000 views - cool!
I loved some of the comment son the other forum...
"The thought of worrying about deodorant after SHTF cracks me up. Out here in the bush, I'm lucky to bathe more than once a month, much less worry about smelling pretty. I have only used deodorant the few times I'm staying in town during a supply run and have to be civilized around folks. It's good info to have, but way low on my priority list."
"Yeah, me too... but it was interesting. "I couldn't shoot him, General - he smelled better'n me!" somehow just doesn't ring true. "
Thanks for passing it on!
ha ha!!!

That is awesome! Thank you and congrats on the popularity of the article! Very good! I wanna try it out for sure!
