Here is a report from a survey company about the attitude of Canadians towards emergency preparedness.
Survey was conducted in 2005 and the report was prepared for the federal government.

Interesting Read. I only made it about a quarter of the way through it, but its nice to see that studies are being done to see how well we as a nation are prepared.
Studies like this should be widely shared with media and the public at large to try and motivate more Canadians to at least get some kind of basic emergency survival plan/preparation on place.
