My question is thus;
can I charge batteries in series?
So the 2nd battery is it getting charged? I would like to charge them that way due to the solar panel. Right now, my setup only allows me to charge two at a time, so doing this would be good, then I can rotate the first one off the charger to use, move number 2 into the first line up to be charged and move the other battery into the 2nd spot.
Thanks
Do you mean series or parallel?
Series will increase voltage...
Parallel will increase amperage...
If several 12 v batteries are connected in parallel, then all batteries will be charged.
Not sure about series connections...will have to refer to my notes later this afternoon.
Can you give some details as to your setup?
How many batteries at what voltage etc.?
parallel?
electricity is not my thing, so pos to neg neg to positive??
5.5 am solar panel to the first, then the wires to the second battery. both 12 volt batteries from an electric bike, small but deep cycle batteries.
Here is a diagram of parallel wiring. Wired this way, your voltage will remain at 12v but your amperage will increase to the total of all your batteries. Connect the charge controler to the first battery and your inverter or load to the last one. All batteries will charge evenly. Always connect load before charge.
Denob, much thanks.
Can we create a new post or Topic heading to solar/charging/electric/battery issues ?
cheers and thanks
Ok, Denob, now that was cool thing you did, not sure how, but very cool.
Thanks
