top left corner it says Portal >> Board Index
click on either of those
Board Index
now look at small row just before, as in above the Board Index
View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics
Using this row you can see whats up and whats going on all at once.
there are limitations though, I find I still need to check using both > Unread and Active Topics
Portal
Whole lot of stats, info, friends, new topics, new posts all combined on one page.. way lots of info.
Just want to go see what is new, then the Board Index is fastest,
Want many more options, then the Portal is the best place to start..
New people, new posts, new topics, friends names, you stats, good search options, upcoming birthdays, who is using the forum right now,

Either page, just right click and open up that link in a new tab, that way you do not have to keep going backwards, or going to the page each time as it just stays there and you open and close tabs leaving the base Portal open.
Now a lot of people do not know that there is another sub set of boards as well. You can find them here, National Networks, http://internationalpreppersnetwork.net/index.php ,and some people go there, never go into the Canadian Section at all

Now another hint,
you saw a Topic, read it and added a comment but can not remember what it was called, well then
View your posts which is located on the top left by the
User Control Panel (0 new messages) • View your posts
so click on the View Your Posts tab, it shows you a page where all your posts/responses are located in time of order

see the top right corner, Search and Advanced Search they are your friends as well,
need an answer to something, wondering how to do something, just click on advanced and pop in the parameters, and your off to the info races... 💡
