The ultimate questions. The CIA maybe? The FBI? CCIS?
There are dozens of theories that paint various levels of government in a bad light when people talk about the reasons for their prepping. A forum like this would be an ideal information source for a government that felt the need to get the pulse of a movement within a society. Is there any circumstance that could see our activities as a threat to national security, or more to the point, national direction, like it or not? Can anyone tell me with some level of certainty, where the real political will stands in Canada? These are some of the core questions that are behind comments like 'trust no one'. It sure would be good to know that our government is in support of our purpose of preservation. I sometimes feel like I'm building a jigsaw puzzle in an environment where the people who should be the most trustworthy are hiding half of the pieces back in Ottawa. 😕

P.S. I understand if no one wants to respond.

Our Government is very much in support of prepping. What they do not support if fanaticism. I come on here strictly to chat about better ways to can food and store products, gather information of solar power etc. I think anyone who posts paranoid comments is probably asking for trouble and yes i do believe that many of these sites are lightly monitored for fanatics who make large claims and or may be aggressive. That being said, If those are your beliefs and you post them on here in a public forum for ALL the world to see you can yell OPSEC all you want but your foolish. Sorry if that sounds harsh, just my honest opinion.

Google is listening but they want marketing information so they can put just the right advertisements on the pages you visit. Your number will have a marketing profile. Facebook same thing.

The government knows about my guns because they all have to be registered. They can access my financial records anytime they want. They can figure out what kind of desperado I am by the two speeding tickets I've had since 1981. They know all about the military security clearance checks and criminal background checks for my security licences. I'm not too worried about R.C.M.P. response teams kicking in my door in the middle of the night. If the government thought that I was any kind of threat I think I would've found out by now. I think they have heavier things to worry about than a few people who just want to be prepared for the future.

Just my 2 cents worth.

You can free yourself from the Google empire. Stop using it to search. Stay off for 3 months and you disappear. Google has integrated cross platform data mining into all their applications, G-mail, Android apps, Motorola Mobility, Youtube, all those add-click cookies you see... etc so it takes data from all of them and cross references them to you.
A partial but by no means complete list here

startpage.com does not record your IP. They have no idea who originates the searches.

Came across this interesting site, gives the RCMP perspective on terrorism.

"Radicalization: a guide for the perplexed" June 2009.

Lots of food for thought and key words/phrases to further research, if you're so inclined.
