The movie is nothing like the book. There is only kernels left.
That being said its a good zombie movie. I also say go for the 3D it's worth it

Yes I was curious how they were going to adapt a book like that to the big screen. Turns out Hollywood strikes again! Still a good flick compared to everything else they are coming out with these days

I'm hoping for a remake in the future that's grittier, explores more of the breakdown of society, and the slow rebuilding. Maybe a tv series?

I gotta say, I was massively impressed with the movie. I hated the idea, I hated the advertisements, I hated the fact it was another zombie movie. Movies like these are always full of stupid illogical decisions. This movie however, was tight. It was real. It was what would happen, what everybody would do in a situation like that. It was real, and that's why I liked it.

The fact is this movie is enjoyable even if you don't like zombies. Everything was very well done. Pacing was dead on.

What I liked about the book was how the nations of the world were forced to deal with the crisis and rethink how they did things. They had to make hard decisions and those that were able to survivved while others who played politics etc. learned the hard way. The movie did not capture that at all. As far as a zombie / apocalypse movie, the effects were ok but I have definitely seen better. 28 Days Later, The Road and Dawn of the Dead. Oh by the way if you get a chance see one called The Dead, it is the best zombie movie I have seen in a long time!

Man, the Book is soooo much more realistic. From the Rodecker plan to smugglers spreading the disease across boarders. Not to mention the American refugees swarming into northern Canada, Stripping the forests, then freezing to death, before turning to suicide or cannibalism, leaving behind a polluted waistland of garbage that future generations had to clean up.

Ya. Ild give up a finger for them to make it into a TV series

Saw the movie. Liked it. Currently reading the book. Like it, too. The book is different from the movie, as are all books, but not only for the regular reasons, but because focuses on a different aspect of WWZ. Between the two, there is some great differing perspectives.

Yes. the book and the movie are two different stories. They have almost nothing in common. Each have their value. The movie will disappear. The book has a good chance of becoming a classic like Frankenstein's Monster. This isn't like Anne Rice freaking out about who played whom in Interview With the Vampire only to recant that they did a great job.(Please, someone do the Vampire Lestat, which is the real story). Same goes with the new movie Enders Game. This Biker dude almost cried with joy when I heard it was coming... but Enders Game is sort of like The Hobbit. A kids story. The real story comes later in Enders Zenocide and like The V Lestat, I doubt any producer today has the cahonies to be up for the challenge. Please don't let the collapse happen before I get to see Enders game. In some ways its the story of how drones go terribly wrong...Enders is just the beginning when it seems all right. See me as a nerd but I will rank all of these with Homers Iliad
