How about the rest of us complain about the LACK of Christmas Music. They only get what they want because WE DON'T SPEAK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just ban Christmas already. Why the slow kill?

I know it may seem like a small thing, but it has just come to my attention that as of midnight tonight shopper drug mart will be suspending all in store x-mas music due to and I quote "due to complaints". Well I know it wasn't any of my friends.... 😀 This ranks up there with them trying to ban the phrase "Bless you" in a recent CBC feed.

Just talked with Shoppers and they tell me that the complaints are related to playing Christmas Music before Rememberance Day and that it will recommence after Rememberance day. I STRONGLY suggested they state that on their facebook page and will see if they do update it.

Don't know if this is similar but the signs on our State (Public) Schools Down-Under have removed the 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' message and replaced it with "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" - official reason - don't wish to offend none christians.

I am with the people that think it is ridiculous X-Mas music plays the day after Halloween.
And X-Mas stuff being on shelves at the same time as Halloween.
It is this massive consumerism that has made people how they are, totally dependent, waiting for commercials to tell them what to do next.

Consumerism is the |opiate of the masses"... the new religion... sadly so many are driven by want... what is newest, more "features" as opposed to need and to really thinking for themselves. It is sadly though what drives the economy. It is also what will bring Western Society down in the end. Superficial and ultimately meaningless yet for so many it is the only thing that gives them a sense of worth and meaning.

That has been happening here for a while now.. In my last Position as "Service Manager" for an Electronics Importer we were instructed by the Office Manager to answer the phone with "Seasons Greetings"... H_LL with that idea... "It's Merry Christmas"!!!
