CME vs. Transformers
I have been thinking ( a dangerous thing at any time) about Transformers, the companies that make them and the industries that supply them.
If (God forbid) a major CME (coronal mass ejection) were to hit the earth and 80% of the large step-down transformer’s (found at power stations) and small (on your street post) were to melt down, the Specialist have claimed that it would take 2-10 years before the lights would come back on. No ELECTRICITY.
Reality Check.
OK it takes a full year, for a large transformer to be built, WHEN and if they have the parts that they require to build them. Most companies are on the JIT or Just In Time delivery system. Most industries are 100’s of mile’s away from the company that they supply. Most of them require trucks to deliver these parts. Older trucks might still work but they still need fuel, no power, no fuel. And all of the companies require ELECTRICITY to manufacture these parts.
Now we talk about PEOPLE, since the majority of the cars today are micro technologied, a big CME would wipe them out. The Los Angeles area could boast that they have the longest/largest parking lot in the world, especially if all cars died during rush hour. But back to the point, how far do you have to drive to get to work, how long would it take you to get to work by bicycle, and when you get there, would it be open.
How long can most people last without the food stores, gas-pumps, and the pharmacies’. How Many people that you know have a usable adult bike.
How many people have enough cash on hand to buy food/gas/medicines.
The only people that I know of that has a lot of cash at any time, are drug pushers, politicians, the extreme upper class and pimps and some preppers.
And last but not least, how many skilled people would be left after 2 month after a melt down. After the sanitary and water systems fail, how many SKILLED people would be left that were not affected by all diseases and maladies that would follow. All of the diseases that had been suppressed would once again appear and be rampant, Starvation, Cholera, Lyme Disease, West Nile, Malaria, TB, Typhoid, Smallpox, Plague (Bubonic, Pneumonic, Septicemic) any type of Flu and STD’s.
So would we be seeing FEMA work camps, to ensure that the right people survive to rebuild the industry? Would you be invited to live in one of the underground bases that the American Government developed, DUMB, or Deep Underground Military Bases, each able to contain 10 - 100 thousand people each.
The celestial scientist have claimed that we are due for a CME soon, maybe 12-21-12? Who knows when or how strong it will be. Will you be one of the survivors or an occupant of a mass grave.
One more thing, if it happens, how long would it be before the US of A would change to United States of North America.

there are a few ideas that i have tried to put forward in my early posts that answered some of your questions. It is my belief that this has all happened before but i wont get in that. If the cme is big enough to affect transformers then it would effect all cars, no one car would work no matter how old, matter of fact the older cars are more suseptable to cme's. all hard drives would be erased weather they are plugged in or not. Anything that has an electric motor or generates electricity would never work again. Gas is no big deal you can buy a hand pump from princess auto and some hose and your good to go just dont forget the bolt cutters. The older cars are easier to protect from cmes because you can take the electric parts off like distributer and alternator among others and protect them in a faraday cage (this is what i have done). If a cme is going to hit we will get 24-48 hours notice and thats it(at best if the powers that be want to help) so know what you would do just in case.
As for the human factor, you can pretty well answer that question your self. The us government has some sort of plan weather its the nwo or not remains to be seen but it has some sort of plan.
And if you all have not noticed we are in north america, we are refered to as north americans in the news and every where else the only real question is who is in charge?

no you assumed that older cars would still work. nothing would work even spare parts that they have for the transformers would be blown, or do they store them in faraday cages??? I think they would need power to make those parts to wouldnt they?? And who would work for no pay when money is worthless and leave their family starving at home? there will be no government because the will be in the underground palaces that the are building so they will be no help. this is how they are going to start the hole nwo movement. anyone that has followed that knows they want to cull 90% of the worlds population and still have control, well how did you think they were going to do it? line us up and shoot us one by one or save a few 3rd class ppl and come out looking like a hero in the end!
They used 911 to pass the laws to do what they want with us when it happens and now they are praticing martial law both here and in the us, it is happening in simcoe county this weekend. you still talk like there would be hope but there will not be, if or when it happens we will be on our own and when they (the government) come out of the Dumbs all of the survivors will become terrorists and rounded up and put in fema camps, job done they have complete control.

Holy crap guy, have you actually read what I wrote before you started galloping for the windmill. There will be a few cars that wont be affected by a massive CME, the electrical engineers have proved it. The Russians knew this 50 years ago, that’s why they used the old vacuum tubes in the electronics for their aircraft for as long as they could. Many of they farmers in the old country still have diesel tractors that are started by a pony motor or a hand crank. Yes sure you can get gas, if your smart enough, but if your vehicle doesn’t run, or the streets are too congested to get any where , your still screwed.

If we are hit by a few CME's or a really big one, huge one, then I think nothing will run, it all depends on the size of the CME or other atmospheric explosion.
Yes beacuse your missing my first point. NOTHING will work. Everything that uses electricty to fuction will stop working, EVERYTHING. Some believe that a car that works on points will still work but inside the distributer between the power sourse(alternator or in older cars on a 8volt system the generator) there is something called a condenser and it is like a big resister, it will be blown so they wont work. A cme affects the resisters and pathways of electronic devices so it is not the big parts that will be blown but the small ones and there are many in a single car from any era. they overload microchips and erase hard drives so even if the get the thing to work there will be no information on the hard drive or cd or anything. NOTHING will be left, they will have to first repaire all the affected parts and then all the programing will have to be rewritten and then it will work. nothing that produces electricity will work ever agin, like the alternator in your car or a wind up radio. it will be garbage. The windings in it will be fried. the only way anything will work is to shield it from the cme. A big cme would be like static electricty in that it would be everywhere and in everything. If it was big enough to affect cars and computers then we would have a hole other problem on top of that, every foot of power line world wide would be fried. you would be able to hear them sizle in the silence of a world with no power.
So everything electric in blown and all the power lines are fried and you think it would take 2-10 years to repair.... but some cars and planes will be ok... I fail to understand how some electical things will be affected but not others when they all work the same way with roughly the same parts.... Or have you read this some place and believed it before you did any reasearch or learned what will actualy be affected... hmmmmm...... So before you go off and assume i just repeated what you said or have gone overboard with an explonation READ with an open mind because some people might know a little more then you do.
People need to stop saying things that are wrong here, there are people that come here and read this stuff and rely on it to save them selves and their loved ones. so before you speak make sure you know what your talking about. I dont act like i know about food storage or solar power set ups because i know very little. I wouldnt want to give someone bad advise and then have them fail at a time when there is not room for error. I know cars and planes and everything in between, i have been around them all my life. i know for a fact that they will be fubard, all of them no matter how new or old.
So if your relying on something protect it because if you dont it will not work when you need it in the event of a cme. As for roads being parking lots well thats a problem that is solved easily but hey my advise is worth nothing here so i might as well just give up..

In documented reports by the US Government and the Soviet Governments, from their experiments, from the Los Alamos testing grounds, At White Sands, SOME will fail and some will not fail.
Some generators failed and some did not fail,
some vehicles failed and some did not fail..
see a pattern here?
I am in agreement in that if it is just a massive flare or massive nuclear device at the right altitude then possibly most if not all will cease to function.

some of the papers presented took me two days to fully read and quantify.
Hmmmm... some things are known fact... some are opinion based on known fact. Sometimes the opinion can be proven wrong in the actual event. The basis of science is constantly changing with new knowledge and time. I "know" that if I drop something.. it will fall to the ground. I "know" that if I cut myself I will bleed. These are things that I know that are based on experience and timelss repetition. I would hazzard to say that the effects of an EMP in their totality are conjecture at best. We have scientific opinion as well as very limited practical experience. Case in point..... the Enola Gay kept flying even though it was exposed to the EMP from the Hiroshima bomb. Just sayin'
