OK folks, you're all gonna want to catch this one...
Tonight on GoatHollow and The Surreal News, show host Doug will have a very special guest.
None other than Brooklyn Bagwell, casting director for National Geographic's Doomsday Preppers.
This is a live show, so you can call in with your questions or comments!
DO NOT MISS THIS!!!

Alright, for those that couldn't make the live show, here is a link where you can find the archive.
I wasn't able to listen live due to a power outage (always at the most inconvenient times) but listened in this morning.
It seems that the show is looking for more "normal" preppers and is also looking to go international, although they have already been to Canada.
Have a listen and tell us what your take was!

Why would anyone in their right mind go on that or any other similar show and tell the world where you are, what you store, and how you prep. If that is not enough they make most of the people look like crackpots.

Even here you need to be very care full what you say or reveal. The internet stores everything forever!

As they said during the last war.. Loose lips sink ships. (or preppers)

I got some decent insight into the workings of the show from that broadcast. It does make sense that the nuts and kooks (argueably) are the ones they show, because they are the only ones that are auditioning for it.

I always wondered who the expert panel was.

As for telling everyone where they are and what they got and how, I don't see much wrong with that. It's not a shameful thing to prep in my opinion. While I definitely wouldn't share my security details with the world at large like some, one could say what they got and what they've done and not necessarily divulge all that they have. It's kinda hard to tell people and teach them what you know, when you won't tell people what you know....you know?

At the end of the day though, some sensationalism needs to be expected. They wouldn't keep it on the air if it was just facts and not in some fashion entertaining. It's still a business and not intended as a pure public service.
