Please allow me to stay here. I only recently joined and have not posted anything yet because I've been scrambling to figure out how to leave BC for AB in order to not only be amongst people I feel kinship with, but to do as much as I can to sort through my stuff so as to not irritate the hell out of anyone I'd have to ask to help me sort and pack. And besides, I don't have any money. One of the drivers of the company I work who hails from AB said "just go there, you'll get work." Well, that's the problem. I have no money to "just go there" so I "can't" just go there.

But I would give my eyeteeth to work for a small business there in a heartbeat. Bookkeeping and other office operations for small companies is one of my strengths. The other primary strength is my editorial skillset, both in text and in graphics. I'm 60 years old and have over 40 years' experience in not only those two kinds of work, but have also done a variety of other things (property management, steel grinding, boat painting, construction cleanup, computer training, you get the picture), and almost all of it self-employed. I haven't needed a resume in 30 years. My current client doesn't know how to run a business. I love him as a person but his good nature makes him his own worst enemy and I'm frustrated beyond belief. I wish I knew someone in the Prepper community.
