Hi all

Just joined tonight, an as my header says Ireland has nothing....
I have no way of getting a reflector oven,
I can't get anything like stun guns or even pepper sprays,
Ive been trying to buy my food in bulk but you have to have a wholesale card here to do that, so just picking up small packs each time, very expensive.... And to order in MRE is mega expensive and the shipping over costs nearly the same as the food... There is no freeze dried food here at all... And I cant even find powdered eggs, milk or butter.... Its mad...
Im trying to order medicals online to cause most things need a perscrption too...
I was lucky enough to be able to order mylar bags and absorbers from Amazon but that's about it.
If there is any Irish preppers or anyone at all who can help id really appreciate it.

Many thanks
Mary

All you need is mylar bags or not even, I don't have them. Everything else you can acquire over time. Canned food, bags of rice, oatmeal, beans, flour, food safe pails - from the icecream store, Guinness, ect. You can get prepped without spending a lot of money on stuff that is not readily available to you. You should try canning food. All you need is a pressure canner and Jars ,lids. Is easy and fun,and you can preserve anything you could imagine - meat, veg, fruit, even butter - though I've never tried that. Bacon too!
All I'm saying is that you don't need anything special to get prepped. Although I've never been to Ireland, I don't know what it's like there but as long as you can get basic goods you can preserve them for long term storage.
Good luck brother.
Remember, Buy what you eat, eat what you store.
Is that how it goes, Ive been drinking.........

Not sure if it will apply to you there, not sure how your system works but I know you have restaurants. Know anyone that works at one? Owns one? The wholesale card vat thing sounds like the equivalent of a Cash and Carry for restaurants/general public here, but you should just as we do also have larger, delivery only food suppliers (need an account). I add my stuff to the restaurants order for the week if I need anything and buy it at cost. You can get the biggest packs available for the best cost. Plus you have access to a large variety of things from big bags of rice, to large number 10 cans, etc. Again not sure if this will work in Ireland but I hope it helps.
Cheers.

I do not think they have a bulk food barn in Ireland.
Now you should be able to get the same type of pails with the lids from all the Fish and Chip places, Restaurants, kitchens and the like.
Pepper spray,, hmmm how about Wasp and Hornet sprays? Shoot about 20ft, do not need a license either.
Reflector Oven, just make your own, tons of videos on youtube or in instructables.com
Getting someone in the Restaurant biz to help out is a great idea.
Why not start Canning food? You could buy or make a large Dehydrator as well?

ps I am 1/4 Irish Prepper myself.. roflol
Irish/English/Scottish/German a Canadian!

^ Instructables, great mention, there are some awesome ideas there, you just have to weed out the bad ones too. Do your homework and prep as best you can. When the SHTF you will still be better off than those who have done nothing. Cheers!

You can make pepper spray. http://www.ehow.com/way_5585576_homemade-pepper-spray.html
You might not be able to stock pile in bulk but a few extra cans here and there could add up. Garden at all? Can you preserve?
Are you able to order online? Delivery from England maybe?

And if all else fails, come and join us Irish folks in Canada! We need more Irish! 🙂

Bulk food stores, and/or restaurants and some Pubs might have the pails. Some would even be willing to give them away.

Just about everyone, anywhere can prep. Start small with food items that you regularly purchase. The best advice I can give is check out the ebook Poverty Prepping by Susan Gregersen. It is only 99 cents here (or local equivalent currency for the Kindle version. You dont need a kindle or tablet just download a free ebook reader for your computer or laptop. Start small and remember that is a start!

Based in Dublin. Good source of information and supplies. Can assist with bulk buy of foods etc. Would be willing to assist and hopefully make contact with those who can offer mutually beneficial resources. Mail ranger6963@mailinator.com. Will check that address periodically.

We're here, we have everything from 4X4s, land, guns, body armour, nightvision, radio system horses, dogs, scoped rifles, semi auto shotguns, veterinary training, suture, IV and trauma and minor surgery skils, antibiotics, horse carts, welders and metal fabrications, forges, off grid wind turbines, pollytunnel cultivation, expertise in firearms, explosives and their construction, grain cultivation and storage, red diesel tanks, seed, fertilisers, lumber, turf and heating systems, outdoors skills, tracking skills, rabbit, pigeon, phesant and deer hunting, silos, perimiter defence systems barbed wire and secluded locations, our neighbours are the same as us and in an emergency we will assist, such as herding livestock after breakouts, dealing with accidents thieves, poachers and would be thugs etc etc etc

Every single thing I have listed is freely available in Ireland.

We are called Irish farmers. It has always been so and always will be.

It's easy to understand why if you pick up a history book.

Ireland has everything. There are 233120 legally held firearms in the Irish Republic, silencers are legal. Body armour is legal, night vision devices are legal. Parametic and vetinary/agricultural training is widely available.

I dislike the title of this thread. I'm sick of listening to people grind on my country, Use your brain. Half of Ireland is what are called preppers and always have been.
