The other day I needed to find a wheelchair for a relative that had mobility issues. And that got me to thinking. How many people have a set of crutches or a cane tucked away just in case? Or maybe a walker. I see them all the time in thrift stores. I managed to get a wheelchair for relative, but now I'm on the lookout for a few sets of crutches and canes to put away just in case. Figure they will store pretty easy tucked up in the basement joists.

Almost a given that sooner or later someone in the family is going to need crutches, an arm sling, wrist or knee supports that we see deeply discounted at the thrift store . On the flip side I think I will take up yoga and more raw meals to instigate prolong health as long as possible !
I do have crutches and a few things but have been reluctant to buy even the good quality things I see come up even though I know I will be paying a premium for when needed , mostly because I find it hard to keep everything organized where I can find it years later when I need it and a shortage of storage space but I am the first to admit being better organized would help .

We have both crutches and canes...this came about because our son damaged ligaments in both ankle on a regular basis, this is mostly sorted out now, kept his ankles strapped for 6 months and is now wearing military boots that are nice and tall giving his long, long ankles better support 😉
Crutches we got new from the hospital but the canes were picked up in op-shops for only a couple of dollars each.
Handy items to have around 😎
