Hi all. looking for some suggestions for a electric food grinder.
would like something with sausage attachments and maybe patty attachments.

these come on sale once in awhile at princesauto and peevymart for around 29-45 bucks. If you find a motor at a yard sale or steal one out of an old cloth drier, your good to go, even if your power goes out 🙂 also I used a 1/2hp for two years now and it's slightly underpower and the belt slips once and awhile, but if i feed slow and steady I don't have issues, also don't make your belt to tight to avoid wearing on the one side of the back of the unit, you can also add a drop or two of veg oil to the metal on metal area's to. Regardless found a 3/4hp at an auction for 5 bucks and it was even wired with a household plug wootwoot! then mount it to a 1/2 inch piece of wood or if you can find it think solid plastic. I simply covered my wood with a layer of thinner plastic i found for like 10 bucks at home hardware. And at any rate it's a nice little project that well serve you well for years and years and sure beats buying a fancy over priced model for much much higher prices. but some of the cabela's models do have the edge with the massive selection of attachments, but keep in mind. You will be paying a high premium of such a unit. hope this has helped you and all in some way shape or form.

forgot to add this link! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfNx0DcwTHw looks alot like my set up but I go directly to the motor to the grinder, I don't see much need for the green thingy this guy has on there and all. not to sure what it does, perhaps keeps his belt more wiggling or vibrating, but I dont have much of an issue so not to sure, i tend to just keep it simple and as cheap as possible, but it has me a little interested for some reason. as you can tell my set up and his would be wise to keep kids away or build a really good belt cover guard as it would do a number on ones finger is it were to get caught up in it.
