We own two kerosene heaters which I am ashamed to admit have not been taken out of the box after owning them for 2 years. The cooler weather coming will allow for time to rectify that situation!! I have also just bought a small kerosene stove for canning so suddenly I am interested in kerosene 🙂

I have been doing research on kerosene and have found out that it stores really well - it's good for 15+ years. I have found it at TSC - Tractor Supply Company http://www.tscstores.com/189-L-CLEAR-KEROSENE-P12718.aspx It's 18.9L for $49.99. The cost per litre is the same as a smaller container so there is no savings to buy the big one.

I have also noticed that you can get kerosene "gas" cans at Canadian Tire http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoSafetySecurity/GasCans/PRD~0283040P/Kerosene+Fuel+Can%2C+20L.jsp?locale=en It's a gas can but it's blue.

If they sell the kerosene cans it seems logical to me that you could buy kerosene in bulk as well at a gas station or some where similar. Does anyone have info on this?? It seems so expensive at TSC or Home Hardware.

I thought I'd open a thread for other liquid fuel questions as well. Feel free to ask or answer!

There are two bulk fuel suppliers in the area Anita, yellow pages, bulk fuel.
The smallest amount they will deliver is 55gal drum, there is a location in Whitby to take some smaller containers though.

The links by scrounger are quite interesting and they posted that link in another kerosene thread yesterday as well. Kero Lamps, look at his posts to find the thread quickly enough, seeing as you also have some lamps as well.
