I have been hearing about super couponing out of the states, there is even a show that follows people hoarding and spending WAY to much time couponing. But what I was curious is can this be done in Canada? Most coupons I get have expired dates or strict restrictions that just don't seem to be worth doing. But when watching Americans couponing they get some serious deals on expensive stuff that I would love to prepp with but are costly like raisers.
In the states it seems to be easy and a no brainer.

http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/tv/extreme-couponing this is from Honey BOO BOO. I NEVER watch the show I just found it while looking for coupon stuff but it was funny 😆
On the very rare occasion that my coupons and a sale and some planet a million miles away align - it's worth it 🙂 I am pretty organized but I find like many others that coupons are not for food that I would buy unless I had the coupon. We eat mostly whole foods and I don't often find coupons for those basic items.
I am a member of a Canadian coupon site www.MrsJanuary.com You can sign up for a daily email with links to coupons and lists of things on sale that week. For people with more time than money I can see how it could possibly make sense - but it does take a lot of time.
I shop at a thrift food store - Almost Perfect, bulk stores like Grain Process in Toronto and wade through the weekly grocery store flyers sniffing out the best deals. I also keep a price book which is just a list of the prices of different items at different store so I will know if a sale price is a great deal of not. After awhile you will memorize the list of the things you buy the most often but I still find it worthwhile. It's particularly disconcerting to look back a few years in the price book - that when the sticker shock REALLY sets in!

Oh, yes. Not to the extent of the extreme couponing show or anything but I have been couponing for a few years now and you can still get some pretty decent coupon trips in canada. It really depends on what you are wanting and all that jazz. The first thing to do though is learn the ways of the couponer lol So Mrs.January.com is a AWESOME place. Also Smartcanucks.ca. Then start collecting your coupons sign up at P&G.ca, save.ca, gocoupons.ca, websaver.ca. Look in your local news papers and stores. Get a good collection going and then go from there.
Also garage sale season in coming! 😉
